About Bear

23 months

Meet Big Bear!
This boxer has it all - he just isn't a fit for a cat-home. That's the only reason why we're seeking a new family for him. Now that he has grown up a bit, he will NOT leave our fat/old cat alone. He is perfect, except for this - but it's a trait I cannot stop, so we are seeking a cat-free new home.

Here's what Bear brings to you:
8-months young with a playful, loving heart, strong confirmation and amazing "boxer-bean" welcomes when you come home! He has championship bloodlines, bred from the 2019 AKC #2 boxer in the Nation - with AKC certification papers for an AKC Breeder of Merit (these are the highest quality breeders in the nation). We have had him since he was 8 weeks and he is a wonderfully loving and fun boxer with a gorgeous white blaze on his chest, white sock feet, docked tail and championship stature.

What is he like?
In a word, he's fun-loving. If that was one word, he would be it. Bear is your typical boxer...kidney bean dances when you get home, funny face-maker, walking/running companion - but still a snuggle bug that enjoys curling up next to you (or on you if you let him) on the couch.

What does he need every day to be happy/healthy?
He needs a home where he can have a backyard or a good walk every day. He also LOVES people-food, but try not to feed him any/too much. I typically feed him Science Diet and he loves it.

Why are we seeking a new home?
He is very cat aggressive but otherwise is a wonderful companion. We have a cat that was here before he was and is too old to adopt out. He really wants to play with our cat, but that turns into a playful boxer-sized pouncing and chasing episode every time he sees our cat. Therefore, Bear must go and our cat must stay.

How far along is he in his training?
He knows to sit, stay (in progress), down, potties outside and goes to the door when he needs to go, and he does well on a short lead as he is still learning. He is also crate trained and will obediently enter the crate to travel, sleep or stay when you are away.

How old is he and is he healthy?
He is up to date on all of his shots, certified against health defects and he has been neutered. He weight @ 50 lb, and he loves riding in the car - although I keep him crated in my SUV :).

How much does he cost?
We paid $2,500 for him at 8 weeks and have since paid another $800 in vet costs for shots, checkups and neutering. Therefore, you will be saving over $1,000 for a comparable boxer, and he is still very much a puppy, but now he sleeps in his crate all night and he does NOT pee/poop in the house - you don't have to deal with accidents!!!
