It is believed that they are related to the Bichon or toy poodle . They are similar in appearance to Havanese and are a bit taller. They are non- shedding breed and are considered "hypoallergenic" . With a name that translates to "lion dog," you might expect the Lowchen to have a fierce demeanor, but with people he's lion like only in his looks. Lowchen are often trimmed to the Lion hair cut or can be left long haired or given a lower maintenance "puppy hair cut". Playful and gentle, the Lowchen is a great companion for children and adults alike...
