Star Mountain Kennel of Connecticut Features Rare Portuguese Dog Breeds Margaret Boisture operates Star Mountain Kennel, located in Northern Connecticut. The kennel features rare Portuguese dog breeds that include the small Portuguese Podengo Pequeno (both wired coat and smooth coat) and the large Estrela Mountain Dog. The kennel has been in operation since 2010. Take a visit to Star Mountain Kennel and one will immediately notice that the kennel’s focus is Happy, Healthy, Hardy Dogs. We have both Wire coat and Smooth Coat Portuguese Podengo Pequenos in our kennel. We are no longer breeding the Estrela Mountain Dog. Our dogs have their hips, elbows, and eyes done. We also use Optimal DNA on our entire breeding stock. Every one of our puppies receives an exam, their first set of shots and are microchipped with AKC Reunite by a licensed veterinarian before leaving. All of our puppies are raised in our house and are socialized starting at day one to provide happy, healthy and well adjusted puppies. We would love for you to visit our home.
