Bold, protective, stable, versatile, hypoallergenic. These are all words that describe the Black Russian Terrier. We, at Mtncrest-Kennel, believe we have found the perfect dog for any situation. And we have tested this dog in real-life. Every day. For years. And the BRT is as good as it seems…and better!

Our primary use of the BRT was to have a family dog that would protect and guard our children. The BRT is a wonderful household companion, being both calm and alert, fabulously patient with children but aloof with strangers. We use this dog to protect our property and children. They are a powerful tool as far as this goes.

During our experiences with BRT’s, we have found some astonishing side-benefits. They are useful around a farm as they are good at herding sheep and other livestock. They are hypoallergenic and do not shed or cause dog allergies with our sensitive children. They will do what you do—if you run, they run. If you walk, they walk. And, finally, the most amazing side benefit is that they stay by you wherever you go. If my children go out to the barn, the BRT goes too. If I look out and see our BRT residing by the back pasture gate, I know my children are in the barn area and that BRT will not come in until they all come back. What a GREAT dog!

We love our BRT’s and really think that everyone should have an opportunity to own one! Our dogs are tested genetically tested. We allow you to view all available puppies through Skype or another online webcam to see which appeals to you. The choice becomes yours.
