Before buying a puppy it is important to understand the associated costs of owning a dog. The annual cost or "upkeep" is often overlooked when determining a Sheepadoodles true ownership cost. When calculating your budget make sure you account for the price of food, vaccines, heartworm, deworming, flea control, vet bills, spay/neuter fees, grooming, dental care, food, training and supplies such as a collar, leash, crate, bed, bowls, bones, and toys. All of these items can add up quickly so make sure you estimate anywhere from $500 - $2,000 or more for the first year then about $500 - $1,000 or more every year thereafter to meet the annual financial obligations of your growing, loving dog.

The Old English Sheep Dog is of the herding group and the Poodle is one of the oldest hunting breeds. Both breeds are known for a moderate to high prey drive. However, if the dog is brought up and raised with cats as a young puppy then normally he/she can live together without a problem.

The Sheepadoodle is a mix breed dog between the Old English Sheepdog and the Standard Poodle.Though the Standard Poodle does not shed or drool, the Old English Sheepdog does both. So there is a chance when the two true breeds are mixed that the resulting puppies could both drool and shed. It all depends on who they take after.
My Old English Sheepdog doesn't shed.
The Sheepadoodle is a mixed breed dog between the Standard Poodle and the Old English Sheepdog. While the Goldendoodle is a mixture between the Standard Poodle and the Golden Retriever. So the Sheepadoodle will exhibit behaviors, coat and basic temperament of the Standard Poodle and Old English Sheepdog; depending on who they take after more. While the Goldendoodle will do the same but for the Standard Poodle and Golden Retriever. I suggest researching the three breeds and figuring out which 2nd dog you like better, the Golden Retriever or the Old English Sheepdog before picking a 'breed' to go with.
My Sheepdoodles are very sweet. I think they are lap dogs.
The Old English Sheep Dog is a breed with a naturally bobbed tail. So mixing it with a Standard Poodle means that some pups will have a tail and some will not. It is up to the breeder to choose to dock tails at this point or not.
They look better with bobbed tails
Temperaments are bred from dam and sire to puppy. The Goldendoodle is a mix breed dog between a Golden Retriever and a Standard Poodle; while a Sheepadoodle is a mix breed dog between an Old English Sheepdog and a Standard Poodle. If the parents of the puppy have a good temperament; it is likely that the puppy will as well. Main differences in the two mixes are that the Golden Retriever and the Old English Sheepdog are not the same breed and so breed standards on size, temperament, exercise needs and over-all work ability are different. The Old English Sheepdog is a gentle, loving and affectionate breed of dog that is very sociable. The Golden Retriever can be described as the same as well. The Standard Poodle is very loyal, intelligent and alert. They can be wary of strangers if not properly socialized as puppies. The Sheepadoodle mix will be larger compared to the Goldendoodle; as the Old English Sheepdog is a larger breed of dog, compared to the Golden Retriever. This mix would be a great companion dog and/or family dog as long as the right puppy is chosen, the puppy is put through obedience classes and its exercise needs are met.
