What is the best dog food for senior and adult Toy Manchester Terriers?

The best dog food for any dog is the one that works with their body. Every dog, just like every person is different and some may do better on some foods than others would do. A grain-free kibble, or raw-based diet is always what you want to strive for; as this is as close to their ancestral diet as we can get for our beloved pets. However, some dogs can not handle that high of a protein diet and need something a little different. There is nothing wrong with that, as long as you as the owner are providing the best food you can afford for your pet as possible. As for adults and senior dogs, start off with a high quality grain-free dog food and see how they react. If they do well with the food, you can even try out raw if your budget allows for it.

Are there any Toy Manchester Terriers that are silver in color?

No, the Toy Manchester Terrier is a black and tan dog only. Any other coloration is not in the standard of the breed.

Have you ever heard of a Toy Manchester Terrier and a Pomeranian mix? They are selling them in our neighborhood. Mother is the Toy Manchester and Father is the Pomeranian. The puppies are cute, as most puppies are. Does anyone know if this is a "safe" breed mix? Some of the puppies have long hair and some short.

Depending on what you consider a "safe breed mix" would depend on if this mix is safe or not. In most people's opinion, a safe breed mix would mean that the dog is free of health problems, behavioral problems, ect. If both parents are health tested, well balanced dogs then the puppies should be alright. But by doing your research on both of the breeds and knowing that when mixing breeds, some pups can take after each breed differently. One pup could have all the positives of both breeds, one pup could have some positives and some negatives from both breeds, while another pup could have all the negatives of both breeds. Make sure this is exactly what you want and choose your pup wisely, getting a pup that fits with your life style.

My Manchester Terrier is almost 12 years old and in great health. She socializes at her pet sitters house and prefers large dogs. I want to get another dog and it needs to be small. Would like another Manchester Terrier but worried my 12-year-old will not take to the new addition. Any advise when adding a dog to our family for my aloof Manchester?

First things first, understand that your dog has lived 12 years alone in her own home. She is used to being the only dog. So you must give her time and space when you bring a new puppy into the mix. The dog and pup should be separated unless 100% supervised (10 minute intervals). You need to allow your older dog to get used to the smell of another dog in her home before allowing them to socialize together. Once you contact a breeder, have him/her give you a blanket with the puppies scent on it a week before you bring the puppy home so your dog can start to get used to the scent early.

My Toy Manchester Terrier is great with kids, plays with them, and loves to run around with them. He is 4 now but has always been good.
