my dog is 11 yrs old and has low thryoid for which he takes meds 2 x day. he is still having dry skin and i use hydrocorisone spray any other suggestions?

What are you feeding? Try to find something with no corn or soy. Nutro natural lamb and rice or avoderm are both excellent. I would add some missing link which is a suppliument formulated by a vet specifically for skin issues caused by diet. When you bathe him, us a non detergent shampoo like kelco MD. I find they do not dry your hadns out sd much as most otyher shampoos. NEVER use detergent like dawn unless he gets sprayed by a skunk( Mix with hydrogen peroxide 2 tp 1 to remove skunk odor.) and people shampoo has a different pH.
