I have a yorkie, which I love to pieces. She is a one and half years old. We moved into a new house about 6 months ago and she is still not potty trained to go 100% on the pads. She was potty trained and did so good at our last place, and now I feel like we are starting at square one almost again. She knows that her puppy pads are were she is suppossed to go, but for some reason she will go right on the edge of the pads or like one inch away from the pad. This has been happening for about 3 months now... me and my husband have no idea what has gotten into her. We have had to start putting her into her old crate when we aren't home and at night again. I believe in positive reinforcement and prasie her when she does hit the pad and ignore her when she misses. You can even tell she know she did wrong when having an accident, b/c she will go and hide or tuck her tail between her legs. HELP! I feel like we are doing everything right, but she is being so stuborn...! |

maybe the Dog is a little confused.i don't meAn that in a bad way .if the pads are a new house, or area ,yes they may know to use the pads but because something is new maybe a little confused.if you can try putting something familiar around her potty area that she might recognize.it might help to realize that it is her potty spot.just as a precaution though put the pads close or around the thing so they don't potty on the rug. |

it sounds like you are only using one pad.
I'd confine her to an area - either an X pen or gate off a small area like a bathroom & cover it with pads & gradually reduce the number - just the way you started training her |
