picking up lots of poo and stepping in tons of pee, having anything you cherrish tore up or puked on they belive that thats a fair trade for puppy kisses and snuggles.
Social life? forget that for at least a year or plan on some revenge waiting on you when you get back hence why the are so good at looking cute.

Puppies are allot of hard fustrating work but once they get out of the puppy hood they are awsome. Ive gotten lazy in my older age and will only have one more puppy, then im done, course ive raised 3 the past year so im burnt out on Puppies.

its like anything in life the more work you put into them the better the results. Read the diffrent things when you google NILF Dog training so you can know the right way to treat a Dog before you get one

knowing how to pick the right breeder is more important than the price, Im sure theres yorkies out there for 500 but they are not going to be breed standards or have defects. also dont fall for the t-cup line of yorkies are suposed to be small but too small can meen liver shunts and hyperglicimia.

a reputable breeder will ask around 1000 for pet quality and up to 3000 for show quality maybe even higher.

Please ask us any questions about the breeder you may find, however you cant give any direct names or sites on here.

well, like naturaldane said, theyre usually a lot more than that. plus what about vet bills (for all their shots, checkups, etc) the cost of feeding them, grooming them (yorkies need to be grommed often because of their long hair, but you could get a puppy cut) toys, pee-stain cleaner (which you will need a TON of), puppy beds, Dog sitters for when youre gone, collar, leash, and hours and hours and hours of your time.

and theres more where that came from!

The average person will spend $9,500 on their med size Dog over its life time. That is if the Dog is healthy. A sick Dog can cost 12 to 20 thousand over its lifetime.

Most new Dog owners should expect to spend between $650 to a $1000 in the first year of the Puppies life. This does not include the cost of the puppy.

IF you rescue a Dog you can cut your first year costs somewhat because the Dog will have its shots and be fixed before you get it.

IF you do not own your home you will spend more, because most rentals require you to pay a non refundable deposit and extra money each month.

Great post. OP, what do you want to know about a puppy. You have been given a lot of information, but no one here can give you the entire picture.

Puppies are expensive and a lot of work if cared for properly. Getting a puppy from a reputable breeder is the first step (well not really, first after you puppy proof your home, buy all the supplies and train yourself).
Research is required to find a reputable breeder along with home visits to see the pup, and its parents.

Once you get the pup home, it is a lot of time and energy and something you can't give up on. It is trips to the vet, cleaning up poop etc.

You will be the decision maker for this living thing. You will need to be financially ready to do that as well as emotionally.

Good Dog food is not cheap either. Sure, you can buy Ol' Roy from Walmart, but that isn't good food. You need to take your time to educate yourself about what makes a food good and what doesn't. Or maybe you would like to start raw feeding. Many swear by it and claim it to the best. (I am not claiming it isn't.)

what part of Georgia are you from?

if you are serious about any of this, you have a ton to learn. you don't just stop learning because you aren't in school anymore.

how many of your Puppies die every year? or how many out of each litter?

what is it you're breeding?

Georgia? Sue I have to disagree that this person is from Georgia....which rock did you crawl out from under. You can't be for real!! There ain't anything we gonna do to help ya cuz ya aint willin' to learn!

Do you know what immunizations are! or laws?

I too have a family to feed and support but my dogs do get good kibble.

Hopefully you don't reproduce children the same way you reproduce dogs! That could be the only thing worse you coud do than what you are doing now!
