A woman took her very limp duck to the vet. She laid it on the table, the vet used his stethoscope to listen to the duck's heart. He shook his head, "I'm sorry, your duck is dead" The woman was distraught, "Are you sure" "Yes, I am," replied the vet. "How can you be so sure, you haven't done any tests?" The vet rolled his eyes, turned around and left the room. He returned with a black lab. The duck's owner watched as the Dog stood on his hind legs, put his paws on the table and sniffed the duck. He looked at the vet with sad eyes and shook his head. The vet patted the dog, took it out, and came back with a cat. The cat delicately sniffed the duck and sat back on his hauches. He shook his head and meowed softly. The vet said the duck was certifiably dead and presented the owner with a bill for $150. "What", she exclaimed, "150 to tell me my duck is dead?" The vet shrugged. "I'm sorry. If you'd taken my word for it, the bill would have been $20, but with the lab report and the cat scan, it's now $150. |

I know! That's why my dad won't let me get a puppy at his house. |

Honestly, I don't know why MOA edited my post. It was to a really good article that everyone should read.
There is ABSOLUTELY NO logical reason many vets charge what they do, other than that they can.
Pet owners should question EVERY cost and procedure, AND always call your breeder before you agree to serious or costly treatments. |

I agree with you. I guess vets only want the money. But they really should focus on the pets that are in there. |
