You will need to look up both breeds individually to get the most information. Who knows which breed your pup will have the most characteristics of.

Well, Sunny. Your mutt will be like any other mutt ... totally different than either of the breeds (that is what is fun out breeds) ...

Hopefully your new addition didn't cost you an arm and a leg. Like noted above, you will need to look at both breeds - and then "guess".

the time to do research is well before the puppy comes.

if it is being shipped to you, there are often problems with Puppies coming down with parvo or other illnesses.

as with any new pet, you should get it to the vet within 48 hours.

beagles are runners ( rabbit dogs ) & schnauzers are yappers.

really odd combination. I'd love to see pictures of this one

Why bother saying anything unless it is helpful? People who read this site know that very few people believe in mutt breeding ... ?

Although I agree, it is obviously not helping that we keep

If that were true, then why on God's green earth to we continue getting threads like this? They would steer clear knowing the kind of response they would get. I must say that the name Schneagle is a hideous name and anyone that daydreams and thinks that this name could be spoken by a reputable registry and recognize such a Dog as purebred, EVER, is insane.

I suppose that my point was to give constructive useful info. Making snide comments obviously isn't working - because there continues to be threads like this!!!

Schneagle is a pretty horrible name, sounds like a nasty bodily function!

Either people would steer clear, or other people who write crap just to hear people be rude and not say anything helpful! Fighting is fun for some people ...

We have 4 schneagles. All are under a year old. I fell in love with the breed when I saw a posting online from a Dog rescue group for a schneagle. After adopting the first schneagle, we decided that she was such a sweet dog, we wanted more. Since we have rescued 3 more schneagle Puppies. They do tend to bark frequently when outside in our back yard. Other then the barking, they are such sweet dogs. We continue to train the schneagle Puppies to lessen the barking and it seems to be working. I know you will love your new schneagle puppy.

if YOU rescued 4 of these dogs from a rescue group- well

1- thank you for saving rescued dogs

2- do you see that even the designer mutts are not exempt from being surrendered to pounds shlters & rescues?

3- do you now think that MORE of these dogs should be bred if they are already flooding shelters / pounds & rescues?

I a curious of your views as you adopted 4 of these dogs .

thanks!

No, I don't think people should be breeding more dogs when there are so many strays that need homes. We have seven dogs total in our home and all came from either animal control or a rescue group. The designer breeds are very cute but, they are flooding an alreadly full market of pedigree dogs that people pay way too much money to own. Adopt from animal control and save a dog/cat instead!

We had what is now called a schneagle. She was the best Dog ever! She lived for 13 1/2 years. She had the most wonderful temperment. She was wonderful with our daughter. I am looking for another Dog just like her. I can't find any of these dogs.

I really must know.

Why do these random new folk ALWAYS pop up on threads where designer breeds are mentioned?

Is there like an armada of mutt breeders and fanciers that sit on the internet all day, waiting for the moment they can jump in and encourage the purchasing of another mutt?

Seriously, almost every "designer breed" thread I can think of on here, some one new signs up and starts posting about how they have the same exact dog, "like magic!"
And then they often disappear.

I'm looking over in your corner Mr. "designer breed" puppy miller!

I hope you are not refering to me or the woman who posted right before you did. I am not selling any dogs nor did I purchase the schneagles we do have. Instead, as I had previously stated, we had adopted all of our schneagles. I joined this group because of the schneagle thread posted. I wanted to post and let everyone know what a great combination of breeds a schneagle is to have in your home. Call them a mutt if you must, but they are wonderful to make part of your family. Weather you adopt a schneagle or purchase one, I think must people would be pleased!
