Happy Saturday! Hope everyone is having a great weekend! I am the other owner of Trixi...the rat terrier that has parvo. She came home on Wednesday evening and is doing wonderfully! She has a great appetite and is full of energy... .......but... she is sneezing ALOT!
I am wondering if this should be a major concern!? She coughed this morning a little bit as well...is it allergies or a cold or should I take her to the vet? Thanks for any advice you can give! |

Sorry, I wrote that she HAS parvo....I meant that she had it and has been treated for it...I know that she is still contagious...but I want to make sure everyone knows that she has been treated for Parvo! |

Rescuewench....
I said in the first post that "She came home on Wednesday evening and is doing wonderfully!" (That meant home from the Vet hospital) and I also said "Sorry, I wrote that she HAS parvo....I meant that she had it and has been treated for it" (TREATED meaning....BY THE VET!)
I dont know where you get that I DIDNT take her to the vet...but I most certainly did and actually caught it very early beacuse I was so aware...as I am being with her sneeze and cough.
I wish you would have spent more time trying to answer my question and HELP on this post rather than making assumptions and judging me. People come on here because they do not have all the answers and would like a little advice from those who may have more information than others...not to be criticized...maybe you should ask questions before making snap judgements. if you have anything helpful to post in the future, I would be glad to hear it! Thanks!

I would at least call & talk to the vet about giving benadryl, if it persists I'm sure he would want you to bring her in. sometimes a secondary infection can develope with the KC if it is that. |

URI is upper respiratory Infection.
yes KC is kennel cough-
i would take her to the vet esp if she is just gotten over parvo- her immune system needs to rebuild , i wouldn't put it off if possible. |

You know what ticks me off- holier-than-thou pet owners who feel that they know whats best for the YOUR pet. Yet when you ask for their infinite wisdom on a forum, they ridicule and judge you based on the information you have provided to them. Rather than offer insight and knowledge from these self-taught "experts", we have to deal with these 'one-post-wonders' who act as though you have wasted valuable time posting and, instead, tell you what an irresponsible pet owner you are or what you should have done. Perhaps you should post your email, IM username(s), physical address, and home/cell numbers to curb this senseless posting so we contact you directly.
[- Insert extreme amounts of sarcasm -]
Cut the crap so we don't have to read these lengthy posts just to get to the point. Offer helpful friendly advice or dont waste your time. |

depends on your bvet since she just got over parvo that will infulence teh treatment i would assume.
when i have a Dog with KC - i usually let it runs its course, unless VERY severe- or dealing with a Dog with a low immune system, then i treat with tetracycline , pedilite in the water bowl & childrens cough syrup ( has no alcohol) ( to ease the throat)
URI? is usually treated with antibiotics - i usually use Keflex , but again- i cannot diagnose your Dog , so you are safest to take it to the vet and let them figure it out & see what they tell you.
good luck.
sorry you are having all tis at once - (sighs) sometimes when it rains it REALLY does pour doesn't it?
i hope for your sake you have pet insurance?

Funny, my g/f (treble02) brings to my attention this post I wrote months ago... I laughed when she read it thinking, yeah that sounds like something I'd say.....
Guess that's why we left this site.
