Quote moggie: i do not know of ANY large cities without malls with puppy stores in them nor any pet stores that sell Puppies. I am sure that if you looked, you would find one within driving distance. you... |
Although the girl that was helping us seemed fairly competent the manager didn't even know the breed standard weight for a yorkie. They should be shut down, but all the business would just go to the internet or other outlets anyhow. Not as a defense but at least at a pet store you can observe the Dog you're purchasing.
I've heard that many of the mill dogs that aren't "picked" by the pet stores are placed over the internet.
The one pet store I visited many years ago in a mall in CA actually had an overgrown Golden puppy in a huge cardboard box I wanted to take him so bad. |

Quote moggie: yeah!!!! someone with an open mind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! noone knows what really goes on behind closed doors...do they?? |
No they really don't know unless it came from the persons own mouth, and even that could be fabricated I suppose. I guess I just don't like the whole designer doggy craze which is my opinion, but I do think something will be done to make it less lucrative some day. I think its number one objective is to line pockets.
I will say though that the cutest Pekeapoo was spotlighted on Dog whisperer, but it had a ROTTEN disposition. It was just one of the cutest dogs I've ever seen. |

Quote PerfectPom: Well really this is a message board where anyone is allowed to interject with their own thoughts. On the same note this thread didn't start out talking about pet stores.
I'm not disputing your circumstances... |
I'm not arguing with you and i didn't rag on you. Yes I bought my Dog from a byb and it was a mistake and I'm not going to lie. I can assure though that I won't be getting another Dog from a byb.
Tell me something, are you against pet stores or for it because I'm confused on what your arguing about. |

Who said I was arguing..I like to think of it as debate, in which the word "argument" could come up. I think you should really start at the beginning of the thread if you need clarification, but generally a topic can go off on a tangent. When I am directly asked a question then most people would respond based on different factors.
In a nutshell I am against pet stores, and puppy mills but if you put it in perspective, the governement allows and profits from them, so we are back to square one so to speak. I already had made it clear I would never purchase from them again. Does that clear it up for you? I have daughters your age. |
