In my opinion, I feel the need that it both be our fault and the Nigerians fault at one point. So technically saying, its both our fault and the nigerians fault. Basically 50/50.
The reason why I say this is because I feel that its our fault for falling for it and not taking much precaution when looking for a Dog off the internet. And the reason why I say its the Nigerians fault is because they're so lazy they can't find a job and work for money. Instead they go on internet cafes and post fake ads to scam us.
I really do think if we had like precaution sign on every classifieds website and puppy websites, it may end a few of the scams today. Plus if we have like a registration for people in the US and US only, it may stop alot of scams today and eventually it'll end.Plus, add extra security to make sure these people are ACTUALLY in the US. But, if we keep being nieve and buying without precaution or reguards or second thoughts, it'll never end and it will keep going on and never stop.
In my opinion, people need to be more aware of what they're buying off the internet and not be so careless and just buying without reguards if even the Dog exsist or not. |

A precaution sign on every puppy sight would not end the problem. LOL The bottom line is that many ppl can not afford a well bred yorkie so therefore they turn to cheap cheap cheap.. We all know that saying... if its too good to be true.......
If you want a Dog and can not afford the price, then contact rescue. You will pay alot less, and you wont be supporting a puppy mill. |

Looking on the main rescue site petfinder.com right now in my area, it is VERY DIFFICULT to find a younger (as in not 10-12 years old) PUREBRED Yorkshire terrier.
Often many of the small breed specific rescues are nearly as expensive as getting an average bred puppy out of the paper.
I also notice that a HUGE portion of those rescues will not adopt to people with children.
Expensive breeds, rare breeds can be more difficult than people think to 'rescue'.
The scammers often lure people in at the prospect of a PUPPY or very young dog, for very little money initially (compared to the pups normal purchase price) then they eventually try to get more money with phoney shipping problems.
I wish we would just cut off all internet ties with Nigeria. Couldn't some programmer make that happen? I mean, what else useful comes out of Nigeria anyway? All I know they do is steal American money with these scams.
I wonder how many millions or billions go to Nigeria annually? It seems like someone in the legislature should be addressing this.
Maybe if everyone contacted their Senators change would happen. Until then, its a pure loss. |

Nigarian dwarf goats are about the only good thing thats to have came out of there.
By the way, most of the scams have a us base to them thats why its important to report it to the police. |
