All these posts are about yorkies, but as I have posted before, I was scammed 700.00 for an English bulldog. I wish I had checked a little bit further before I sent the money. I found out about all this after the fact. Luckily they paid for the ad in the local newspaper with a credit card and it can be traced. But I'm still talking to the guy in Africa, and he says he is working with someone to send us the money back, but says it will take him some time. He is keeping us posted. We are playing mind games with him with some friends of mine, and he has not offered to take any one elses money, which is a plus. I don't know if he is on to us or not. I also have a doctor friend that is going to South Africa in a couple of weeks, just asked him today if he can visit him and go to the church he is working with. I haven't heard from him yet. |

I was almost scammed twice in one day. I was looking for a T-Cup Yorkie. One lady said that she had to move out of state and could ship me the puppy for additional money. When I said that I was not prepared to pay more than what she originally listed it for, she agreed to give it to me at the orig. price as long as I sent money immediately via Western Union. I was warned through nextdaypets.com to NEVER do this. I also asked her to fax me the AKC Papers and she said she could not do that for security reasons. I requested using the Feel Safe/Pet Pay option and she did not respond. I asked for additional pictures and was not sent any. I basically told her that I had reasons to be suspiscious and would not be purchasing the puppy. Same day - I got another one claiming to be out of the country in Camaroon. I caught on pretty quick to the Nigerian/Camaroon scam and called her on it. She seemed to get quite defensive, but rather than dropping it, kept emailing me until I asked her to stop -and she did. I think I will only be looking through petfinders.com and local shelters. These scams are everywhere! |

A lady I work with got a death threat - she thinks it came from Nigeria but the email it was sent was in the US - I told her to take this email to the police - The email wanted money but did not say where to bring it other than it said if she reports it to the police that her life will be over - She is not taking this serious - I disagree - I think she should report this immediately to the FBI What is your opinion? I guess it depend on other circumstances like has she had any previous communication with this person? i would probably report a death threat as a serious thing by taking a copy to my local police department and asking them what I should do. |

She doesn't know the person who sent the e-mail. The person first name who sent the email was in his e-mail address. It could be a prank but on the other hand if it is not I would not be chancing it myself. I would think that the authorities would be able to track the email. Boswer |

Are any of you who actually gave these people your addresses, phone number, etc. afraid of identity theft? I just went through this today. We had already sent the $$ and sent these people the confirmation number (Western Union). But something didn't feel right, so I googled maltese scams and found out about the scam. I cancelled the Western Union wire on time, but now I'm afraid they will steal my identity with the info I gave them. Any advice (other than "Way to go loser!")? |

I am so gald I did my research before i sent this woman anything. I got an email stating that she had a yorkie free for adoption. Her and her husband are in Nigeria on a Christian Mission. I asked for info on the Dog like what type of food, feeding schedule, fav. toys. She never answered any of my questions but was very persistant about contacting a shipping agent and that I would pay $400 to get my Yorkie. I emailed her back and told her I couldn't afford to pay that amount, and then she emails me back saying that she spoke to her pastor and he gave her $200 to help me with shipping and I would be responsible for the remaining $200. I called around to shipping agents to find out shipping costs and also called my local airline and they told me to do my research because there are alot of scams coming out of Africa. I typed in puppy scams and almost fell out of my chair when I seen how many came up on the screen. I am a very trustworthy person and felt sorry for this woman, thank God Im not stupid as well. PLEASE do your research! I am so glad I did. |

i am reading your posts about the nigerian puppy scams...this is absolutely huge!!!! you would never believe how many people have told me they have sent money to nigeria via western union....i hope i dont make anyone too mad...but how stupid is it to think you are getting something for practically nothing...the costs of shipping alone that delta actually charges for shipping a yorkie puppy right here in the us is 199.56...this amount does not include a crate, a health certificate, gas to and from the vet, gas to and from the airport...how could anyone think that this could be true..so mistake # 1 would be...being dumb enough to fall for such a ridiculous scam...especially when it has been posted on all the web sites in many many locations....then # 2...why on earth would someone purchase a puppy from a foreign country when there are far too many right here that are for sale??? the ads have now hit many many classified newspaper ads in many many cities too...but...if you want to know who you can blame and who should be held liable for the millions of dollars that have been stolen by these scammers...good old western union...do you not think that they know that every single dollar wired over there is a scam...of course they do...they get their fee..the scammer gets paid...and you get screwed..everyone wins but you...and western union has had millions of complaints and they do nothing...not even return your fee..this is who i would like to see held liable for the millions of dollars they made money on while knowing full well it was another scam...after all of the complaints they have had...why on earth...are they still doing business with nigeria???? how can they aid in the rip off of our hard working citizens...i can tell you how...they not only are making huge bucks on the fees here..but also again over there...i hope they choke on it...and i hope that...cnn does a week long special investigation of western unions involvement with nigeria and just how huge it is...... |

I have been searching for a yorkie puppie and I found a lady that had a friend that had 3 she wanted to give for free. I was skeptical and tried to do a little researching on the little bit of information that I got from her. So I typed in the location of this person and here I am on your website reading about puppy scams. I have copied the information that this person wanted me to send them money to. I hope that it helps someone find these people that are bad.

I inquired about Puppies yesterday to a woman named Kim who lives about 4 miles from me in regards to teacup yorkie Puppies and got a response from a cheryl broussard. yea I knew something was weird because this woman kim just posted the add two days ago, no pictures, and all of a sudden the Puppies are all sold. Well heres the email she sent me: Hello I am sorry the teacup yorkie Puppies have been adopted out, presently i am on a breeding project and will be having new litters by june/july 2008,but i can refer you to a very close friend of mine who is working with Animal Health Center of Madison Dr. Jessica thomas joined the Animal Health Center in June of 2006.She reside in Brandon, Mississippi.
