Quote JAYNDEE04: Puglet, I like the way you say that I do not know anything when you can not comprehend something you just read minutes ago. I am not arguing with anyone, just discussing a topic. Plus your post is simply...

You are one to be talking about me not taking in anything that's been said when you for some reason believe that we all hate puggles (the dogs not the breeders) on this forum! you have obviously trailed through old posts to find people condemning puggles to start an argument since no really recent puggle arguments have been posted recently and if you had read them properly you wouldnt have made the mistake that all the other new posters make by assuming that becuase all the puggle threads are full of people condemning puggles that its the dogs that we are against when we care about them just as all other mixes.

In answer t your question - yes i do belive that we should stop buying puggles - its a simple supply and demand situation. if people were eductaed to know that these designer mutts are being mss produced mostly in terrible situations and that they are no more special than your average shelter mutt then people might think twice about buying one and if there is not demand then the millers and byb's have no reason to produce them. Yes, obviously bybs and millers do produce purebreds also, but the situation where mixes are being purposely bred is even worse and just leads to more and more mixes being left in shelters whereas considerably fewer well bred purebreds are abandoned and are more easily re-homed by lovers of that breed. The main issue is to educate people about these mutss for bucks so they stop buying them giving profit to bad breeders.

100%

But Puglet---These people who want a fight are not going to listen to anything we have to say. They will always have an argument, which will usually lead to a personal attack on us instead of adressing the issue at hand.
And you certainly don't have to justify people like this with a defence argument. Anything they say against you personally is just said to cover up that they have no argument in favor of breeding Puggles.
They will always whine that there are purebreds in the pound too, and they can't seem to look at the statistics that show purebreds don't get dumped as often as mixes, and when they DO, they also have a far better shot at getting a new home instead of a death sentence.
We could argue with these people until we're blue in the face, but they can't see past the end of their nose. Their minds are made up.
Anyone who actually knows YOU Puglet, does not have any accusations to sling at you.

The fact of the matter is, as long as people keep buying these mixed breeds, they will continue to be bred and keep the overpopulation problem going. I do not hate Pug/Beagle mixes, they are very cute, but that does not mean they should be purchased for 1000 dollars when that person could simply save a life in a shelter or rescue for 100. It's wrong, and VERY selfish of the buyer. They are purchasing a pug/Beagle mix because it's the "in" thing to do. They want to carry around a little designer mutt that is being advertised in the magazines, idiot celebrities carrying them around, and on the Tyra show. I don't want to see that garbage. It just shows how superficial the world is. Angelina Jolie adopted a child from Cambodia, so of course the other celebrities had to follow. They're CHILDREN, not a status symbol. Madonna adopted an African child, Britney Spears also did. Does this not seem awful? It is the same with these dogs. They are being bought because they are the latest trend, a fashion statement. What happens to them when that trend fades? They are thrown into a shelter with the rest of the dogs to face an uncertain future, and it all started with ONE breeder. We don't need anymore of these animals being intentionally bred for money. All of these breeders are blinded by glitter and the almighty dollar. They see the money, not the life they could possibly be sentencing to death eventually, just because they wanted 1000 dollars in their pocket for sticking two dogs together. I in no way dislike the dogs...I love ALL dogs. I do however dislike the idiotic breeders and the people buying these mutts regardless of the thousands of animals dying in shelters.

I agree with everything you said about Pm & Bb.
The bottom line is that there are animals dying
because people feel that they are disposable. When they are "done" with them. And...

"The bottom line is that there are animals dying"

I agree 100%. The OP doesn't realize that while the byb's breed mixed dogs for money, they also tell the public that their dogs are better than purebreeds. They advertise as "Won't shed!" or "Won't be over 4 lbs!". They are minipulating people just to get their money. In a few months when the "designer" Dog doesn't meet the promised standard, the owner's love runs dry, because they most likely bought the Dog for the show of it, and not temperment.

OP- I'm sure there are many people who do end up loving the Dog despite broken promises from the "breeder". BUT-Breeders who mix dogs for the he** of it DO contribute to all the dogs in shelters b/c they are the ones who FORCE their "designer hybrids" onto society.

I guess I'm confused about what exactly it is that you feel strongly about?? Is it that we as a group don't like puggles and wish they were never born...or is it that every back yard breeder has a right to breed whatever crazy mix they can think up because they have a male from one breed and a female from the other..and gosh darn it...they would sure be a cute mix!! I'm fairly sure your "point" got lost somewhere in about the 10th post...I could be wrong...but that's just how I see it. Maybe you'd like to start another pointless thread...since this one has pretty much run it's course. Let's see, you could ask how to get your money back from a breeder that you paid $3000.00 to online and now you can't get them to answer your emails. Oh yea and you're getting worried because it's been 6 months and no puppy! What in the world should you do? THERE'S A POINTLESS THREAD!!! If you need more ideas I have a zillion I'd like to share with you

I'm not one to get in the middle of things, but is this directed at Puglet?

She didn't start the thread, and isn't defending pro-designer mutts.

Not meaning to get in the middle, I just respect Puglet alot.

well i would just like to say puppy mills are a horrible fact of life and laws should be enacted to protect all these poor dogs, only an idiot would disagree. All i know is i own a puggle and it was the best money i have ever spent he is the smartest and the most well tempered Dog i have ever had pure or mutt. there are alot of sad pathetic people out there that make themselves feel superior to others becuse of there Dog im sure thier dogs are the most interesting things about them. It just strikes me that this is probably how they feel about people too if your not pure your you dont deserve to live. they should realize all dogs are mutts if you go back far enough. And they all deserve to be loved.

I know down in this area of the south, though some of the prettiest people are mixed either black or white or white and mexican they have a hard time because they dont fit into either culture and I know some have been made to feel that way. Though things have gotten better in some ways most of any place east or west is still unbelievably racial and I have to wonder if the poster is from around here or some where else in the deep south. Granted forms of racism are all over the US and every where to a degree but coming from some one that has lived all over the Us I feel parts of Ga, Al, Miss and Tenn are still way behind in the times.

I have recently bought a puggle! His name is Traviz, my fianc and did not want to buy a Dog by any means! We went to the pet store with our couple friends and they were looking. We have recently moved into our own place, I have just graduated from college so we were not looking at ALL! The best thing would have been to just take our time and get use to our new surroundings.

But when we went in we saw him, we never have heard of puggles ever!

I am a hard core outside Dog or animals person to begin with (we live in a apartment) not an option for outside dogs!

We both fell in love, he is so cute, loveable and very trainable! I was amazed! I have tried to train other dogs but never worked, sure you could say that I didnt have enough patience your right I didnt, but I havent really had to even try with him he hasnt gone in his kennel yet and has only went on the floor once (the first day he came home with us)!

Im just tiring to say that I am not very educated with all the breeder of the world, I just know that if you are a animal person, when you find one that just connects with you, it doesnt matter how much they cost you just want to take them home and love them make their lives and yours happy and full of life!

And for the whole mixed, hybrids, mutts, and designer breeds most people like myself were just told that thats what that Dog was referred as. Weather it is wrong or not I dont know but I dont think we need to attack people or disagree I think once is enough they have heard you and vise versa, just call it what you want to your self after you have educated the other! People are going to believe what they want, not what they are told!

Any way I do love my puggle and has been healthy and trainable! Im sure they vary from Dog to Dog and from person to person though!

I don't have anything against inside dogs, i now have one! But i do believe that some dogs such as the bigger ones need to be outside! Do you really think they want to be in closed counters where they cant move around, roll in the grass, dig, play how ever they want, with out getting yelled at? I am a farm person and have always had outside dogs, they were never miss treated! Granted some people may not go outside and play with their dogs as much as we did but it goes vis versa with inside dogs some dogs don't even get to go outside and play besides going to the bathroom! There owners are to lazy to stay out with them! So i think it is good and bad! i don't think you should just hate one or the other they can both be bad and both be good! It's just what the owner of the Dog feels is right for their life style and family! But they are animals and lets face it, they don't have the capacity of human's you don't see cow's and horses in a house! They are in a barn, which is equivalent to a Dog house, shed or garage! Don't get me wrong, i love my dogs, and would do anything for them, but people having dogs in a house is more of a gift to us then the dog! We are the ones that want them to always be with us! Which good but we are only doing us a favor the "dogs" have been outside for ever, they were made to be outside! "hens the body of fur"!
