hi, I'm interested in doing dog agility with a papillon. I've heard that the larger sized papillons are better for the sport, but i was wondering if the average size would be just as good. does it really matter? thanx!

What will matter is the dog's speed and desire to run the course. I have seen a couple toy poodles and small jack russells consistently beat or equal corgis and even shelties in their height class. When you get down to the small dog classes, you can see 5 pound toys competing against much larger and sturdier corgis or shelties. Tell your breeder what you want to do with your pup and he or she should be able to suggest which pup is best-in this breed, you won't have too much of a range to begin with-it is more important that you have fun training and that the dog digs working with you than how big or small he is for the breed. Have fun-run like mad!
