Ok, yes i'm going to post another site I found that does not show responsible breeding, but while I do that, I propose that maybe we make one giant post w/breeders we come across that seem questionable. This might be better than how we all make seperate ones. Though I am fine with everyone making seperate, IDK, maybe it annoys some people? Keep in mind, those of you who don't approve people showing others sites to stay away from, people on this forum are just truely bothered by what people get away from. Don't come to this forum if you're not ready for passionate people with strong oppions. and do you notice something she says? Here, i'll qoute it "I have been a hobby breeder for over 30 years. I am renowned for making the tiniest Peekapoos and Cockapoos, as well as my other small breeds. Cockapoos ready in April many colors At this time I have some really nice small little Peekapoos & MlatiPoos 2 males white and white and tan also very cute teacup maltipoos very rare in party colors Just born and some adorable litte Porkies Pek& yorki Mix !! Ready for Deposit Now !! Thanks" This woman is all to eager for her deposit( notice the two !!'s) and acts like these dogs are her experiments so she can see how little she can get them! Question- Are there any socities (humane or others) that people can report places like this too? I understand that her dogs may be healthy, but her intentions are wrong. What can be done? Is the only option avoiding them and telling other people to do the same? Thanks for reading this, I know its a long one.

I just posted this one in another thread. The reason for my negative attention this is that she is using this dog as as stud at only 12 months old. While this might be acceptible for smaller breeds I really don't know, but in Great Pyrenees they must be 24 months old before you can get their hips certified. So she obviously doesn't care about the potential of passing along hip displasia. I e-mailed her asking how she can guarentee his hips at only 12 months old, but I've been ignored. Edited, I had to take out the link. I'll repost it again soon.

you are completely correct. no dog should be studded before he is two years of age. the reason being is because that is the age he must be before the health testing can be done. one year old in ANY breed is far too young. some breeds like shepherds, rotties, etc, testing the hips should be a neccessity. and breeds like french and english bulldogs, etc, the eyes should be tested as well.

There is nothing to report. She is not breaking any laws by breeding X'd breeds. The only possibility would be IF she is required to be state licensed & is not. If she has more than 3 breeding bitches she must be USDA licensed or if there were issues with the living conditions. So yes, keep telling people about places like this. There are many sites that offer brochures to hand out & other ideas to educate the public.

Why don't we post a post where we tell great experiences with great breeders? I bought my Aussie girl from a nice lady in Mo. Although I was really worried because of all the horror stories I read here. I know they are meant to help people not get scammed, but man was I nervous! My little girl is beautiful and I can't even believe that an 8 week old puppy actually whines already when she has to do her duty.( not one accident her first overnight! I took her out six times! lol She aquainted herself with my other dog and cat and already the three of them played for hours. She follows me everywhere and is now sound asleep at my feet. I've got her vet appointment today just to make sure she's 100%, but she looks really healthy...I inspected everything from ears to skin. Her ears are the cleanest I've seen in a long time! lol She has green eyes and we named her Kiwi...aw I'm in love! edited by maoseger1010

You people need to get a life an stop trying to destroy other peoples way of life. Not all dog breeders are puppie mills, some of us do raise healthy dogs take get the best of care everyday. Are pups are played with on a daily basis an are very happy while they are here.If you have never bought a pup or seen someones kennel how can you have an opinion on them.

Click on the picture of this listing: Is it just me, or does that dog look NOT healthy? I believe it is the belly that is giving me concern.

I agree, you people need to learn a little more about what you are talking about. Not all beeders are bad. Some of us actually LOVE our animals and breed top quality pets and give them the best of care. Stop trying to ruin peoples lively hood.

I didn't even bother reading the whole quote after I saw the "making the tiniest" part. That's one thing that would make me stay away from this breeder.

People here know not all breeders are puppy mills and they know "Many" breeders truely care about their dogs. Do you know that there are in fact thousands of puppy mills in this country where the so called breeders are producing puppies as fast and as cheaply as they possiably can so they can make that all mighty buck? Do you deny it? Is it wrong to warn people about those places? Is it right for those people to be "making a living" at the expence of the puppies and the people who buy them? When in many cases those puppies are unhealthy and cost the buyers hundreds if not thousands of dollars and years of heartacke. If you are doing everything by the book and raising wonderful healthy well socialized and top quility puppies clearly they are not talking about you and you should not feel offended.

You cannot slander someone through a public forum. Slander is spoken orally. Have you ever heard of freedom of speech? Freedom of opinion is part of that. We are perfectly allowed to SPECULATE, which is exactly what we are doing. There are obvious signs to look out for that make a person a BYB or a puppy mill. Using the word teacup because there is no such thing, a more accurate word would be premature. Giving a one year health guarantee when it's obvious that certain ailments cannot be tested until 2 years of age. Mixed breeding, their prices, no health checks, etc. What about the animals in shelters? Where do you think those dogs came from? Oh surely not from a breeder because these breeders care so much about their animals *sarcasm* 25% of dogs in shelters are purebred, and what about the designer mutts that are flooding shelters? Do these dogs just fall out of the sky? No. They are bred by someone, sold to their owner, and because the animal was misrepresented (non shedding when they really do shed) they end up in shelters. If you have such a problem with it, you need to move on and leave us alone. We are perfectly within our rights to speculate on a breeder, to state our opinion about what someone is doing, and telling people what to look out for.

I also want to point out that a breeder with more than 10 dogs is classified as a puppymill by the USDA. so try to buy from a breeder with a few excellant quality dogs that they are breeding. A reputable breeder will have only a few select litters a year. Not 2 and 3 each month.
7/14/2006 9:01:38 PM
true and - if the breeder is a hobbist they usually only have one liteer every 5 years or so. an RB with a BIG kennel can do a few litters a yaer depending on how many bitches they have - but i NEVER buy from someone that is breeding ONE bitch 2x a year EVE. that is VERY bad for the dog hennce they DONT CARE about the dogs health. Peoples way of life? Thats the problem... its just that for some breeders or, bybs; A WAY OF LIFE. For the breeder who is breeding to improve the breed and considers breeding a hobby, its not their "way of life". Those breeders have day jobs... those breeders show their dogs....etc Why do people like you even reply to a post like this, youre obviously doing wrong or else you wouldnt be so offended by such a post.

I am sorry but I really doubt that statement, and it would be really ironic for the USDA to 'label' any one a puppy mill since they are huge supporters of puppymills. Could you post the link that you get that from? The USDA is the one that is supposed to be inspecting and regulating the puppymills. The USDA are the ones that ACCEPT THE CURRENT STANDARDS OF PUPPYMILLS, and allow dogs to live in the same conditions as basically chickens or other LIVESTOCK. THE USDA is a joke, and they aren't going to stop 'supporting' the puppymill industry any time soon. Why? Money. I am sure they get big bucks to inspect and license these places. Plus it is a billion doller industry, the goverment gets taxes off of puppymill dogs. Do you think they want to lose that revenue? To me a puppymill is a LARGE commerical breeder that sells to the pet shop industry with no care of where the puppies go or for their care, they do not health test and keep the dogs in small cages a breeding machines. I would also like to point out that many, many show people have over 10 dogs. Particularly small dogs. If you have even a responsible breeding program for a number of years you will be suprised on how the number of dogs that you keep as puppies or that are retired creeps up on you.
