Hey everyone! I have one of my Igs (italian greyhounds) enrolled in a puppy class. I have taken on of my other dogs to this trainer before, and she's wonderful. She gives papers on what to do at home between classes, so I'll be able to work w/ my other pup to. The thing is, Sierra (the pup) gets a little spazzed around strange dogs, though she's fine with my others at home. She knows sit, down, stay, here(come), and heel,(heel and come could use a little work) but i'd like pointers from this trainer to reinforce these commands, etc, and partly to help socalize her. Does anyone have tips on how to calm her a bit so she can pay attention to me during classes? Thanx so much!

Your pet trainer can answer your question. Get with your trainer before the class or after, and talk to he or she about it.

my rottweiler does the same thing. My trainer lets my dog and the other dogs play before the class starts this usually tires them out a littl and they pay attention more during the class.
