| Quote 4theloveofmycocker: Do you have any ideas? I don't know why they locked it. |
{thinks hard} let's see, they locked it because {thinks ever harder} ... because the first thing you said was political in nature?
Please note: Political, religious, moral or military-related topics are controversial in nature and can lead to some heated discussion, arguments even, as these are all typically button pushing topics which are typically avoided in the workplace among workplace discussion. This is a dog-related community and there are other sites for that kind of topics.
I kindly thank you in advance for not discussing, religious, moral or military-related things here so that my thread isn't locked. Not to mention, it'd be nice to stay on-topic and keep it Dog food related.

Quote Kayzhond: If you would've read it properly you would've seen I said One owner, then another woman, and then another Labrador Retriever owner - see, look at the bold and it adds up to 3, not one.
One Labrador... |
Kzyhound.... you are absolutely laughable. NOT ONE.... THREE!!! WOW... three people said that this was the cause of there lab getting cancer!!! (none of which are trained in any sort of vetrinary medicine or forensic science). So what you are saying is that we should just drop the foods we are buying for our pets becuase 3 PEOPLE you may or may not know have come to the ridiculous and uneducated assumption that this food gave their labs liver cancer. I'm sure their were autopsy's done to prove the food caused this... right??? NOPE... just these idiots 'assumptions' and 'gut feelings' that this is what caused the cancer.
GREAT JOB!!! way to make yourself sound like a complete moron.
You can't be serious. Looking at your later post, this says alot about your supposed "Graduate" degree. Where did you get this degree?? Where ever it is, I am guessing they don't have much of a program on data-collection, statistics and vetrinary science. 3 lab owners does not a scientific study make.
Who's next? |

If people would actually read the following article they will understand why feeding the lower grad food is a bad idea.
http://www.api4animals.org/79.htm
Maybe some of you should have your mommy and daddy read this article... it just might change their mind. |

Sorry bout that but my mommy and daddy could care less. My brother owns the dogs. He is pretty quiet doesn't yell but you know when he is ticked off. And once his mind is made up about his dogs it's gonna take an act of Congress to change it. You can present him with all the blither blather you want to it ain't gonna change nothing.(excuse the lack of proper English there) |

I'm Grown! I don't need my mother nor my father do help me/tell me what good for me or my dog. I'm sure you are Growntextas well and you don't need your parents hinting to you what's best for your household. |

Like I said, I don't need to be a vet to know that my dog's food contributed to liver cancer after 13 years of being perfectly healthy. It's no different than if someone was eating "junk" fod for 13 years straight. I wouldn't have to be a medial doctor to know that eating "junk" food for 13 years isn't what finally killed them. |

Instead of berating a person for what they feed, it might be nicer to offer helpful suggestions that won't make them go broke feeding their dogs. And I do agree with some, that a loving home and any food is better than a shelter and no home. When looking at the price per pound for Dog food, I find that chicken goes on sale around here at 60 cents or less. I try to stock up (I have a small freezer I got at a yard sale). I pressure cook the chicken and the dogs get it mashed--bones meat skin and all--mixed in Dog food. Hamburger is also cheaper than some Dog foods. Canned vegetables are cheap here--and yes dogs like vegetables including canned corn and peas and carrots. Variety is the key--if your Dog does not have a sensitive stomach. If your budget says you must use a cheaper brand, adding the meat and vergetables may help both the budget and the dog. |

my dogs love most veggies and fruit and whatever else we are eating. When I am training them I use chicken as a reward and they love it. Believe it or not, their diet is well rounded! |

Yes you would need to be a vet. And not even a vet could say for sure.
The number of variables that contribute to cancer are beyond count, so it's preposterous for you, who have no objectivity in this matter, to come to such an untutored opinion.
