Hey I was trying to think of something snazzy. One forum I used that name for, said it was too "pornographic" to use. I wansn't even thining that way. But I know what you mean Kristen. I laugh at it myself. You can just call me Rachael from now on.

You people are saying how you don't want to spend the money .. but guess what .. with a more premium food the Dog can digest more because of the better ingrediants so you feed less .. AND YOU SAVE MONEY .. there you go, you very ignorant tight-wads

Hey, Chill out, We just decided that we aren't going to yell at each other(or type angrily). It was just getting funny. Besides the "dog lovers" just realized that "ignorant tight-wads" are "stubborn ignorant tight-wads". Anyone else have something funny to start a thread on so that we can argue over that.

Quote Angelcare: Forgot to mention all of the animal testing done by the companies like Iams and Pedigree...

What exactly are they testing for? I think we know what dogs eat. Maybe they are testing to see how much...

Gotta agree with the lady. I saw some of that **** and I got sick for the day, couldnt eat, cried, all messed up. Imagine those poor animals. I wont buy IAMS or anything related to it.

Quote jrock_at_rons: WOW!!!! ONE OWNER!!! What a great sampling of data they must have used to collect this data. I'm sure this "owner" had a vetrinary degree or a doctorate in forensic science. C'mon... give us a break....

If you would've read it properly you would've seen I said One owner, then another woman, and then another Labrador Retriever owner - see, look at the bold and it adds up to 3, not one.

One Labrador Retriever owner puts partial blame on Science Diet as to why her one lab died of liver cancer. She blames it on the by-products and the chemical preservatives they used. Another woman who owned a Lab mix and fed Science Diet to her Dog for most of it's life and it too developed cancer. Another Labrador Retriever owner also fed her lab Science Diet for 13 years and also lost her lab to liver cancer and it was this later woman who learned that phenobarbital was contained in Science Diet. As you know, pentobarbitol is the stuff they use to euthanize animals. Apparently, after animals are euthanized they're sent to rendering plants to be used in a lot of commercial pet foods. Anyhow, it'd be interesting to find out how many other Dog owners lost a Dog 10 or older to liver cancer while feeding nothing but Science Diet its entire life.

And by the way, that ONE owner doesn't need to have a veterinary degree to know that is after feeding her PERFECTLY healthy lab Science Diet for 13 years it's no mystery the Dog food is what ultimately caused the liver cancer just like I don't need a medical degree to know that after 13 years of eating nothing but "junk" food a person's going to kick the bucket from eventual complications brought upon by eating all that "junk" food for 13 years straight.

Like envypoodlecollection said, "Different strokes for different folks!" or, if you rather, "Different weeps for different peeps!"

Thank you for sharing this, but it's been addressed SEVERAL times already and, to be honest, if they want to waste money - let them.

Me, I'd rather conserve my money being I'm middle middle-class and a post Grad student and a substitute teacher. I'd like to sink the extra money into my Grad school loans to help pay them off quicker. Or, just maybe I can take the extra money and put it towards a new car. The possibilities are limitless and can go to far better things that a bag of crappy junk food filled with chemical preservatives that are banned from human use in many countries because they're possibly carcinogenic to humans due to the oxidative characteristics and/or metabolites of the chemicals themselves.

All you can do is put the information out there, you CAN'T educate people if they don't want to learn. And if they don't want to learn that's too bad. IMHO, a better educated person is less likely to be taken advantage of than a person who's NOT as educated and refuses to see the facts as presented.

kristen, well the forum I started is now locked and I guess from my beginning statement people are getting offended and taking things to heart. So any ideas for a hot debate that is "dog related". This is open for anyone to answer.

Well, just don't get this one locked either.

Now, if you'll exuse me, it's time for me to go have my morning "junk" food kibble of Pedigree and the like. Hey, if it's good enough for you dogs then it surely must be good enough for me too, right?

Rachael - I saw that they locked the new one you started. I didn't understand why myself? It is normal for the threads on here to get "heated", that is half the entertainment of reading them! I thought it was a good idea anyway. Maybe Kristin will come up with something......
