Well dog clothes aren't really a good or bad. It's just a preference of your dog. Every dog is different so some might not want to be dressed, some do.

Yeah, it's important to get them used to them when they are puppies and train them that putting on clothes is fun and not something bad. Like give them a toy or a treat anytime you put on the clothes are bring them out infront of them or something.

I wasn't really thinking about hairless breeds. But as far as breeds with medium to long hair, I think that their fur keeps them a lot warmer than any of us can imagine. Our goldens will roll around in snow long before they will roll around in grass. As for running around barefoot, I will walk barefoot through snow in 20 degree weather.

Yikes! I would never do that, I can barely stand 40 degrees (if it ever gets that way) here in Florida during the winter season. Last season it was so cold! The paws would stick to the side walks.

If you're dog is well fed, taken care of, and loved who cares if you dress them up. Some people may think it is dumb or inappropriate but I think it shows you just really enjoy your dogs and if dressing them up makes you happy then go for it. I'd do it and wouldn't care what anyone said because it's your dog.tongue:
I once had a lady and her two teenage children scoff at me because I dress my dog. The daughter said to me "Its mean to make dogs wear that stuff" and the mother said "Its makes them look dumb" I looked at her daughter with her love handles hanging over her too tight to low jeans and her shirt half up her belly, nose ring and pink and black hair, her son whos pants were hanging below his butt so you could see his boxers and greasy hair and slumped posture and I said, "Its mean to let your children dress that way it makes them look dumb" and walked away. She of course was quite offended but she asked for it.

I wanted to know your views on this, do you think it's a good idea to have clothes for your dogs? On another forum (not a dog or pet lover's forum) people were really against it. So my questions are 'how far is to far?', 'is it okay if only the dog is a hairless breed?', or 'is it only okay if you don't take it any father than the safety boots for dogs feet?'. My view, is that it's okay if it's like doggles and the safety boots, I don't see the harm in that there. But, actual clothes for dogs, that's a tuff issue for me, I see all of these clothes for dogs and than end up getting a sick feeling, because some of them are just going to far! But, other sometimes I can't help but love it and want it for my dog, although she'd never wear it and would rather bite me first, . So what are your views on dog clothes?
my little dogs love there clothes. they jump up and down and round and round whenever i get in their clothes and stand right there waiting for me to put them on.
