Hey guys!
So, I just noticed that my Dog Angel chewed a little tiny piece of her paw pad off. And it looks a little sore around the area. I was wondering if it is the increased exercise (walking) on the hot pavement?
It doesnt seem to be bothering her all that much. But, is there anything I can put on it? I have Mushers Secret. But its really waxy and it just makes her lick more...in which licking makes it more sore...anywhoo...thats my long question. :)
Thanks! |

There could be a lot of reason for the torn or missing paw pad. Chewing is one reason. I use an antibotic ointment on my lab. Its really hard to keep them from licking or chewing on the sore, its natures way to heal. Keep saying no when you see the licking or even try a guaze bandage to see if that helps. Last resort would be a spray over the ointment to keep the licking stopped. I love the bitter apple spray, it works on my kids biting their nails, too! Good luck!!! |

is she licking or chewing any of her other feet?
this often comes from allergies to grass or food. what are you feeding her?
have you just used chemicals on your yard or carpet? |

Do you use the swiffer wet picker upper? The chemicals they use to make it wet are caustic to pets. Check her chest and tummy to. Someties if it an allergy to a subtance they lay on you will see hairloss, or red bumps there too. |

I feed her innova EVO. She has left it alone. It is healing pretty well. I think it was just from walking on the hot pavement everyday. |
