A question for all of you Dog experts:
How can you tell when your Dog is ready to go on a walk without a leash? My Dog hasn't been trained for this or anything, and I haven't tested letting her run free outside for obvious reasons.
I'd really like to take her on walks without a leash like lots of people on my block do, but how can I tell whether she'll run away?

Thanks in advance for your help!

IMHO, no Dog is ever ready to walk without a leash. All of my dogs will stay within the boundries of my yard but I would NEVER consider walking them around the block without a leash.

i agree, i would keep her on the leash. why take the chance?? you may put her in jeopardy. is there nowhere you can go to a Dog park for free range??

Lots of people on your block are making bad choices with their dogs. Keep your Dog on a lead if you don't have a fenced yard. For one to protect her from all the other unleashed dogs in the neighborhood. Your showing that your the better owner by keeping your Dog on the lead.

Thanks for your help, everyone!
Ill keep my Dog on a leash, I was just wondering about how to tell if she would run away. I don't mind using the leash, though, if its the safest thing for my baby.

I would never give advice to let your Dog run free.

My neighbor dosen`t use a lead. His dogs always step on my dad`s plants. My dad works all day in the hot sun.And then he wathches as he desprely tries to get the dogs offOf his plants.

Isn`t there a leash law or something?
