The only thing keeping me from getting a papillon is if my family won't get allergic. If you have a papillon, could you possibly tell me how much they shed, and how much they make you sneeze?

Thank you soooooo much.
I really need this information.
Sincerely, Moochernum

No they are not. Who has the allergies? Have they been tested and do they know if they are alergic to dander, saliva or both?

Thank you so much. It is my dad that gets allergic real easily. We already have a mutt, she is half aussie,a little lab, and some blu heeler, but he has no problems with her, so I figured he would be ok with a small papillon. I really appreciate you answering my question. I will try to persuade my parents. Thanks!
Oh, by the way-
I'm pretty sure my dad is either allergic to the dandruff, or the shedding hair. Thanx again!

? Your answer is confusing, you state it is either the hair or the dander that your father is allergic to- and the mixed Dog that you describe would obviously have both shedding hair and dander. All dogs have dander and double coated breeds have MORE usually, which your mix has (except for the kerry blue). Furthermore, as of 2008 AKC website lists: Bedlington Terrier, Bichon Frise, Chinese Crested, Irish Water Spaniel, Kerry Blue Terrier, Maltese, Poodles (toy, min, std), Portuguese Water Dog, Schnauzers (min, std, giant), Soft Coated Wheaton Terrier, and Xoloitzcuintli (fss breed) as "lower dander" breeds. Not included is your papillon, but then your current mixed Dog you would think would make your father allergic......must have more blue heeler????????

Anyways, these are the breeds that are recommended by the AKC as 'more hypoallergenic'.

You can ck out more info here http://www.akc.org/about/faq_allergies.cfm
Hope that is okay mods, just to AKC.

Good Luck, I hope everything works out!
