Yesterday I was at the Vet with two of my three dogs. Red and Tubby. We initially went because I think that maybe Red isnt feeling well. So we wanted to do a Coccidioidomycosis test (VF) on both girls. We already know Rico has VF and is being treated for it. Last check both girls were negative but it is an Airborn disease. Both girls got their Heartworm recheck and Rabies Vax. I had Red Vaccinated for her other things like Parvo, distemper, etc there because she is so difficult to vaccinate at home. Tubby, on the otherhand is very easy to vaccinate.
The vet asked if I wanted to vaccinate her also and I said I would do the other vaccines for her. I already had the vaccination for her at home. The Vet continued on to tell me stories about how they have seen "Fully Vaccinated" dogs that came down with Parvo from being vaccinated at home and that there was no way to know how the vaccinations were handled prior to me getting them. She went on to say that they could have been in a 100* warehouse and things of that sort. I have had vets tell me this every time I decline to use their vaccines.
Why is this? I know they upcharge their vaccines to pay their bills.
Is there any truth behind what they are saying?
Does anyone know of a Dog that was fully vax's (properly and on schedule) that came down with something that the vaccine should have protected from? |

ahh, this is a rough area for me, but heres the way I was explain by my beloved country vet, for the most part the ones you can order online, that come next day with ice packs are just as securely shipped as the vets and really the same thing only theirs comes in a multi does bottle. They pay as little as 30 cents a dose on some things.
However, I would not used those you can find at the feed store for the simple fact is the counter person may have handled them wrong or let them set out.
NO vaccines are 100% effective, weather given by the vet or doing it at home, and its not just me and my crack pot butt saying annual vaccines are not good for dogs, all the major leading universities are also teaching new vets that it not the proper or heathier thing for the pet. |

I find this hard to believe. I can purchase vaccinations from the same place as the owner of the petstore here, and me doing it at home is no different than when I used to do it at the pet store. He sells an average of about 20 dogs a month and no one has ever said their Dog caught something even though they were vaccinated (when it was one on time), there are 3 vets around here who have never said anything either and they all have a relationship with the petstore owner. After going through as many dogs as he does and never hearing such a thing, I think your vet is just a lot like....a vet! Mine charges $74 for something I can do for $7.75 |

That is exactly where mine came from. I ordered them online from a vet supply company and had them over nighted to me.
I order individual vaccinations because I only have three dogs and a multi dose vial would definatley be wasted. I store them in the fridge and vaccinate on schedule.
I even go as far as to not order during the hot months because the temps here can reach as high as 120 in the summer and it would melt an ice pack in 10 minutes. So I always winter order. |

 this is where I bail on this thread as its just too hard to keep my nutcase mouth shut, back to my crate now |

This is exactly my feelings as quoted "This is where I bail on this thread as its just too hard to keep mouth shut" when I hear this crap about people allowing Vets to vaccinate their sick dogs.

Where I live, Rabies Vax are required by law.
Obviously you have no clue as to the situation, or the situation with my dogs.

Actually, they can not make you vaccinate your dogs, if A you have a titer showing immunity or B have faith based reason.

 order your vaccines from revival animal health. take your Dog in to the vet for a rabies only. you are right, unfortunately, a rabies vaccine is the law in most states. cant get out of it. |

I simply remarked that I felt that they had no room to comment or offer advice after all of the innacurate information that she has posted since she has been here. AND THAT IS FACTUAL.
Absolutely nothing wrong with that. Nor do I see anywhere in the terms od Use that I can not state an obvious fact. No way shape or form is it disrespectful to state the obvious but at every turn things are being edited.

You are the one who knows nothing about the determental affects vaccines have or you would be getting an legal exemption for your Dog if he is sick.
