i am going to buy my daughter a Dog soon and have a question for you puggle owners. are they good swimmers? she wanted a pug but heard they love water but are poor swimmers. so the next best option is a puggle. any help will be appreciated |

Beagle bratt breeds puggles so perhaps she would know, but check the other threads out where people are having trouble with their puggles so that you can be prepaird for the good and bad.
I really dont think either breed is for swimming but Ive never heard of a Dog that couldnt, maybe get a doggie life vest just to be sure. |

Most snub nosed, deep chested dogs are not great swimmers. Pugs, and Boxers for the most part don't like to swim. They just flail around pathetically. Not a pretty site.
I don't think Beagles are exactly 'water dogs', but I think they would happily go through water and swim. Probably first generation Puggles would NOT have the same issues that purebred Pugs would.
Puggles are more active and physically fit than Pugs overall.
Boxer, Pug, Beagle or what ever type of Dog you get, just be sure you have enough time to social it and for TRAINING.
People who seem to be most happy with their Puggles are the ones that did NOT purchase from a Pet store, and have enough time to train it to be a well behaved dog.
