Well there you have it, I THINK I got screwed buying a Dog online, imagine that!!!!!!!!!!

First Dog only had one testicle, and I had made it known that I may want to breed my female to the new pup....The breeder sent me this pup without checking (RED FLAG) I still have him and he is almost six months with one testicle.

The breeder has trouble finding a male that she has with two testicles... (RED FLAG)

So she sends me a bigger pup and decides to NOT tell me that one of his eyes has no black lining.......AHHH so I've invested quite a bit of money on two dogs that are NOT what I was looking for.

So Can this eye fill in? The pup is 13 weeks old.

He still is a doll, but obviously I can't show him. He does look kinda funny with one eye completely rimmed and the other naked.

Thanks.

im sorry you are having such a time. there is very little chance if any, that the pigment will show itself period. years ago, shady breeders used to tell potential customers that keeping them in the sun would give them pigment. i think this is malarky!!! the breeder should have told you about this issue since you let her know what you wanted.

Moggie, are you a breeder? Are you familiar with the Maltese breed?

If you are, do you think it would be okay to breed this Dog to my female? I obviously know that he does not fit the standard (lack of eye rim), however my female is overly black pointed, lol. What I mean is, she has dark patches on her body, and a tan patch on back (disqualifies) which I have heard can be from over pigmentation. This is her only flaw. So, do you think they may be an okay match?
I obviously wouldn't give full AKC registration, since they would be pet quality.
I would only be having one litter with this pair.

I was trying to get into hobby breeding.
Please, please no bashing!!!

Sounds as if you have invested money in THREE dogs that are not what they should be.

A Maltese should be pure white with lemon or tan on the ears ONLY!

I won't even consider giving advice on the breeding of these three dogs as none of them seem to be a qualified candidate.

You have admitted that none of your dogs are what you should breed. You even say that you won't let their Puppies be bred. Then why make Puppies. If you don't care about breed standard then why limit registration. Who are you trying to impress on here? You are acting like you care, but how could you if you breed and neither are what the standard calls for.

Personally, I don't care too much about breed standard, but which side are you on?

WHO ARE YOU TRYING TO IMPRESS ON HERE No one, honestly. I was hoping to make one pup that would be in the standard. I guess that just isn't going to happen.....

thanks again.

That would make sense on the surface, but that up to standard pup would still have undesirable genes in its line. Like I said, I personally wouldn't care too much, but if by having limited registration you are trying to better the breed it doesn't make sense to breed in the first time. You will probably end up breeding them, so good lick in getting what you are wanting.

No, actually I've decided not to breed any of them as suggested. You made a very good point of things being in the line....this breeder is so unethical who knows what else is lurking??

Again, thanks for the advice, it will be taken, I didn't know that I had to make that clear, lol.

yes i am a breeder and have been for many years. i would not breed this male. he has an excellent chance of throwing Puppies without pigment and this is a bad fault. if you are intent on breeding, invest in the absolute best quality you can and do loads and loads of research before jumping in!! good luck!!!

Well I am sorry that you are having a hard time with buying dogs online, however I wouldn't buy dogs online in the first place. If you think that I am being rude I am sorry.

I cant say I can add to much positive or anything that you dont know already, but really take a look at the breeders code of ethics from the AKC and how to pick a good breeder, thus would A. give you goals to strive too, and B would help you avoid red flags.
People wait months if not years to get a show quality dog, so it would be like finding a needle in a haystack to find a true show quality puppy on the internet, and a breeder worth their salt isnt going to sell a show quality puppy to just anyone.
Not fussing but saying it like it is.

Malteese are starting to downfall abit since there has been so many produced and now many health problems have popped up, at least thats what I hear and see many unethical breeders trying to pass off their breeding stocks.

Im always willing to help some one find a good breeder if needed.
Just because they dont have a pedigree that is full of champions doesnt mean they are not good pets and can not love just the same.
