can anyone tell me please how long a first period last on Puppies she is about 26 weeks we brought brother and sister for pets but we do not want to breed and was told to have her done first after she had first period can someone help please |

As I do not breed I am not sure how long her first period will last but I DO know to spay her before she goes into heat! (six months is perfect, but no earlier) good luck! |

they neuter Puppies at 8 weeks & up - been doing it for many years, however it is commonly done at 5 months to get it done before they go into their first heat.
once she has gone into her first heat she is at much higher risk for mammery cancer which does not diminish after spaying. the other types do.
