Seriously, I ahve no idea. In all of the books I have read on Dauchounds have I come across A thing like that. Maybe take him or her to a vet sometime to see what the problem is or if it is not a problem then do not worry about it. |

I have a 2.5 yr old female mini dashchund and hers are the same way, her back legs are kind of twisted too. The vet said doxies tend to be prone to this because of what they were bred to do.My vet has seen it several times and it has lead to no problems....however, mine was recently diagnosed with degenerative disc disease. I PERSONALLY believe that the awkward feet had some play in why she twisted her back in the first place. Never let your Dog jump up or down from anything. When walking, use a harness, not just a collar. A jolt on the collar can actually force the spine to go together like an accordian and they can slip a disc. It is actually very easy for this to happen with dashchunds. You don't need to be paranoid for the rest of the dogs life, just take some extra precautions. Doing some research on degenerative disc disease would be a good idea. Still you could ask your vet for some insight about your dogs paws. Good luck! |
