My Chi Samson is nearly 7 months old and can be neutered any time - so says the vet. The whole thing makes me very nervous. Now don't misunderstand, I am all for spaying/neutering your pets, but my little guy is barely 4 pounds, and has the wee-est little package barely visible to the naked eye! (He still squats to pee - he's just too darn freakin cute!!)
Anyway, I'm just playing out this VERY LITTLE procedure out in my mind, and all kinds of worries are a buzzing through my head! One little sleep this way, one little slip that way and he could lose a whole lot more than just his manhood!
Seriously, has anyone heard of accidents happening during a Chihuahua's neutering??
Thank you! |

There are always risks with any surgery but the long term benifits often outweigh the risks. Talk with your vet about your fears. Let him/her know what your thinking. Ask them how they sedate the dogs. Ask them how many dogs they have neutered the size of your Chihuahua. These are all fair questions and good vets will be more than happy to help set your mind at ease.
I have a Chihuahua and she came through her spay just fine. :) |

they neuter kittens at 8 weeks, Puppies too. it is not invasive surgery. takes all of about 5 minutes tops
they probably won't even mask him down - they'll probably just use injectable.
in any event - he should have been done a couple months ago
good luck |
