We haven't had one of these in a while and I thought it would be a good idea. W/O information you could potentially think someone isn't that bright, when really they are just 14 or something. It is also important when people are giving all these 'opinions' and 'advice' to see really what their knowledge base is, because it just seems like a lot of people on here kind of talk out their backsides.

I am allowing this thread so that we may all get a bit of info on our fellow members but if this thread gets out of hand with "bashing" others for lack of experience or education with handling/owning pets, the thread will be immediately locked.

My name is Kim, I am female, 40, married with 8 children between my husband and I, 2 of which currently live with us. We have 4 dogs all of which I have raised from puppyhood. Duncan 6y/o chocolate lab, Lilly 4 y/o yellow lab, Chevy 1.5 y/o black lab and Clover the 2 y/o, 10lb mutt who thinks she is the "BOSS". All 4 have been spayed/neutered.

I am a licensed cosmetologist and currently run my own salon.

I have no vet experience other than what my vet has shared with me but I have fostered many sick and pregnant dogs and their litters of unhealthy Puppies so I have been through much over the years. I do have a little experience with grooming but prefer human hair over pet hair.

Although 3 of my 4 dogs are show quality, they are pets only in my home and have never been in the show ring. I have attended many shows in the past, as a spectator only. I currently have no plans of showing any of my pets.

Many, many people could and have accused you of talking out your back side on a number of issues Beagle. You are not required to be an animal expert to post on here, and how simple minded of you to suggest someone that has life experience, doesn't have just as much to offer in their own way as you do.

M/F= Female
Age= 33
Married/single?= Married

Kids/no kids= 2 children

Animals= Dogs, cats, horses. Have had goats, chickens, rabbits, small rodents.

Formal education= Bachelors in Social Work , 12 credits of a 22 credit Masters Program.

Occupation= Currently I have been Dog breeding full time for 3 years, and have been breeding dogs a total of 12 years.

Until 3 years ago I worked for the State doing Children's services. Before that I worked a year at the Salvation Army, and before that I was in college.

vet experience with animals? What are some of the procedures you have done or assisted in?=

My grandmother who raised me was a vet tech in the 60's to mid 70's and also raced harness horses.

So I was raised to be 'hands on' with vet issues. I have dressed horse wounds that were down to the bone. I have covered the heads of anesthetized horses while they were being gelded (at 13).

On dogs we have removed tails, dew claws, given own shots, micro-chipping. I been allowed to be in the room during many c-sections over the years and I am allowed to be present during any surgery I want.

I know how to hydrate subcutaneously. I know how to tube feed. I have had to do numerous unpleasant tasks for breeding, health care. I have had to care for rectal and vaginal prolapse.

Some of this stuff is pretty 'hard core' yet, when my vet gives me instructions he is 100% confident I can do it and will follow through with great care.

Training experience with animals=
I was born and raised on a horse farm, we always had 8-14 horses at a time and many farm animals and pets. I trained my first horse at 13. I have always been considered EXCELLENT with animals by anyone that knows me.

In all honesty ND this really hasn't been at least in quite some time, if ever, a feel good warm and fuzzy forum. Since Beagle obviously started this thread to prove some point that she is more qualified to answer questions based on her "vast animal background" I choose not to play. It doesn't mean I need to chill!

Dog show experience-
Have you been to a Dog show?= Yes, 10 or more a year for the last 5 years. Most in my State.

Where/when?=
The last UKC show I attended was in February when I Championed my second Boxer. The last AKC show I attended was the Harvest Cluster in November. The next major show I am going to go to is the Nationals in KY in the beginning of May.

Have you had a Dog entered in a show?= Yes, one AKC, Several UKC.

Have you shown a Dog in the ring?=
Yes, my first time was last July, where my bitch took best of Breed and best of Winners at the largest UKC show, the 'Premier'.

I have also had many group wins.

I am actually doing so well that one of my mentors who can no longer 'run around the ring' has asked me to show her dogs as well. Which I will when I have the time.

My point of this thread was to see exactly who we all are. Who was making the statements, and what experiences and education they have to back it up.

It is a lot different to have been reading something in a book, or other opinions on the internet, than to actually have hands on experience.

Brat you forgot to include one Q; Are you a licensed Kennel?

You also left out two important bits of your bio.. that youre married to a pro athelete and you show your dogs.

Lol. When I came on here, the forum was a lot different before the rule changes. I didn't want ANYONE to know who I was. The last thing I wanted were some of those jerks to put my website up on this forum and pick apart every thing I said. Or I would have had to file a lawsuit-- and I am dead serious about that.-- It was rampant slander going on in this forum. Made by people who had never set foot on to those breeders property to know what their situation truly was.

You KNOW this forum was about 'bashing breeders'. --Though since I imagine you were one of those gleefully doing it, your opinion of it was different than mine.

You can check out my bio on my website though, it says basically the same thing that I just posted.

As far as being licensed? No I am not a licensed kennel. All of my dogs are individually licensed with the county, and I have never had any complaints even though my dogs are in plain view of 2 major roads when they are all exercising.

I have also been inspected 1 time by AKC (they do this to all breeders that have over 5 litters per year). And I also passed that with flying colors.

I do not need to be USDA licensed because I do not sell to pet shops or brokers. I sell directly to families.

Oh, and I do show my dogs. If you get UKC 'bloodlines' magazines you will see my name in the 'show results' section fairly frequently.

You're just a little too full of cow manure from your younger years Beagle!
I will put my IQ up against yours any day of the week. We all start learning from books at an early age. I don't come in and try to answer things I know nothing about. It shows your naivete to think your little thread is about anything but your own tooting of the horn.

I didn't say IQ, but even if you were a brain surgeon, that doesn't mean that you have knowledge in all subjects, like dogs/pets.

Isn't that what is relevant when people are giving all these opinion statements and advice?

Kind of like when Hillary says she has all this presidential experience, when it was her husband in office.

Just want to know what YOUR (meaning every one on here) experience truly is in animals/dogs/pets.

Oh, I forgot I was also in the 4-H program from 9-18 and then I became a club leader for nearly 10 years until I became to busy.

It was primarily a horse club where I taught children how to show horses and we stayed for a week long show at the country fair every single year, to this day I am a familiar face.

Look it up on about 5 other threads. If you are truly that interested and want the lengthy responses I have given, because that is how many times I written it and I don't care to do it again.

Otherwise just take it as why not? Lol.

Where is your bio?

Well I really resent you implying I am not capable of sharing information I have learned about as well as practical experience I have. That is just DUMB. I am more than qualified to asertain from reading that there is no such thing as a "tea cup" literally. I can also relate my experience of using Deter and grooming my Pom amoung other things. How many times is it said, "do your homework, research" on a vast array of topics and how is this done, one way is thru reading.

If you have experience in grooming, showing, what ever, it would be great to know exactly what it is. If you are a pet owner with 1 Dog or 8 dogs, it would be great to know exactly what it is.

Not just you. Everyone.

You can not always get the real facts from just reading. How many books, articles and opinions contradict each other? In fact there are pros/cons to almost every subject in the universe.

On a morning radio show this week, someone was trying to STILL argue that global warming is a myth. Anyone can say what they want.

If you have personal experience, you can tell people from things you know, not just the opinions and experiences of others.

Why not because the main motivation has to be the dough rae me. That little cavalier statement says it all. News flash Puggles are going for $200 around here. I think the Mini St. Bernards are the current rage. Teddys have fallen by the wayside.
