I was browsing around the net this morning and was on another site and saw 3 Puppies that I would have given a home to any one of them in a heartbeat...I have everything that is asked for to adopt...stay at home Mom,fenced yard, excellent references from my vet, two spayed dogs and am able to afford a third...the unfortunate part...I'm in Canada and the rescues are in the United States and they don't ship...before anyone starts yelling at me, I understand their reasoning but still I have to think that these babies spend their days in a rescue (not a bad place) when I could give them a wonderful home...I wonder how many animals would find homes in Canada if the shipping rules changed. |

With all due respect, there are plenty of deserving, homeless rescue dogs and Puppies to adopt IN Canada.

don't think so!
use your head a little bit here.
you have to LIVE in the US. I really don't think you'd get Canadian drivers license's, references, addresses past them!
and most shelters you don't just walk in, pick out a Dog & leave with it! |

Actually there are rescues that will allow adoptions from people in Canada. Most every Dog I place is in another state. And I have placed 2 of my babies in Canada this last year. Now there will still be things that you will have to have done before you can travel to adopt your new family member. And the rescue has to be willing to most general have more shots given the the animal and have a special health certificate from the Vet. that can take up to a week to get. |

"Don't you think that you are being a little bit to harsh?" That is not harsh at all. It is just the facts. Shelters screen people applying to adopt animals. A pretty standard requirement is that the person adopting must live locally in case of problems. Many shelters/rescues do home visits before letting someone adopt. I can't imagine one willing to ship a Dog out of the country. |

Some people actually DO know alot. Don't be so sensitive. Sue is who she is, get past thinking she's scarey and harsh and you might accidentally learn something. Not everybody out there is a super-politically-correct pansy who walks on egg shells all the time. |

it is quite easy to learn without the harsh, rude, and scarry....
and guess what...you dont have to be a pansy to learn from a good teacher.....
it is the bad teacher that is out of controll that one shouldnt have to learn from........
i smell anger management.....hey....they need a little symbol for that!!!! maybe one of those little red mean faces with rollers on its head and a cigarette hanging out of its mouth!!!!!!!!!! lol!!!
