I have a 2 year old min pin and I think he is getting sick. He threw up twice yesterday but was still acting like himself. (for anyone who knows min pins you know they are pretty hyper) Well I got home from work today and every day when I get home he meets me at the fence to say hi and then he comes in and we play for a while. Well today he wasnt at the fence and I had to go in the yard to find him. And now he wont eat or drink anything and all he will do is lay in the bed when he normally follows me any time I leave a room.

 have you been able to get him to eat anything at all yet?? how is his stool?? is he dehydrated?? if you do not know how to tell..pull the skin up on the back of his neck and let it go back down..it should fall right back down immediately..if it does not...he is becomming dehydrated...do you have a thermometer?? if so..take a rectal temp...normal Dog temp is around 101...if he has no fever, and is not dehydrated...i would make him some chicken and rice....encourage him to eat a little at a time...if he will not eat it...i would get him into the veterinarian as soon as possible...i know you have written this after hours..but..he is a small Dog and will need help as soon as possible...check to see if his gums are white or greyish..they should be nice and pink...is he current on vaccines and dewormings?? does he see the veterinarian on a regular basis?? please let us know...good luck... |

Take him to the vet asap. He could have eaten something or be coming down with parvo or some other probem Keep us posted and good luck. Hope it's nothing serious. |

Well he hasnt eaten anything yet but he did start drinking water last night. He wont drink it out of the bowl though, he has to lick it off my finger or out of a spoon. His gums are still pink and I dont thikn he is dehydrated. He walked around a little last night but just to get under the bed and hide and then to get back in the bed and cover up. So I think I will try the chicken and rice thing and if he doesnt look better in the next hour or 2 we will head to the Vet.

Well he is back to his old self, and back to thinking he is the king of the house. When I got home from work saturday he ate and went outside and then we played for a while. |
