My 3 month old puppy will go outside, pee, then turn and sit in it, or walk right in it. If she actually goes off the stairs to poo, she walks or runs through all the poo and pee in sight. My other two female dogs are very sure not to get themselves dirty in anyway, they walk around the 'mess' outside, they clean 'themselves', their feet, their little faces everyday, but the puppy...I have had to bathe her 3 times in one month. I know I am not supposed to do that but she smells like pee from running in it. Will she grow out of this? |

I kinda figured that would be the next question, I should have specified!!! I got her from the spca. They picked her and her 4 littermates up when they were only 6 weeks old and they were put into foster care where they were attempting to paper train. She will also pee in her kennel and sleep in it. However she is doing well housetraining - as long as I stick to the routine of letting them out, she doesn't go to the door yet to let me know. I was wondering if maybe this is something she should have learned from her mother (not to walk/sit in it) |

never saw a Dog do that & can't answer your question but I'd start taking her out on a leash, then she won't be able to do that.
hopefully she will grow out of it. |

I will be taking her for walks as soon as we have sit and down understood, also I am waiting until her third booster on the 27th to take her out of the yard. I had to bathe her again today, she was jumping at the door to come in and fell backwards in her pool of pee.... |

I think Sue meant to keep her on a leash any time you take her out in the yard to potty, it will give you more control. I did this for many months during potty training, otherwise they can get the idea it is playtime. |

she might just need a little more reinforcing.agree with taking out on the leash ,keeping control of her will help with the potty part of it and also can start with the basic heal command while walking.again, tons of praise will go a long way.good luck |
