The Dog was with a homeless person? How did you find out how old the pup is? Who told you its a pit? I'm not sure I understand what you want help with? Are you asking us to help you find a way to keep the puppy inspite of the laws against it? |

since you are in miami...and im assuming more than likley in an apartment...it is not fair to the puppy, nor the neighbors, not to mention it is against the law, for you to keep this puppy. how do you know this is a pit bull puppy?? is it possibly a mix?? if so, is that against the law too?? if not, do you have the ability to properly care for this puppy...you should not even have a 6 week old puppy as i would imagine it has not had any vet care period...no vaccines and no dewormings...vet care in miami is very expensive...and...the laws are strict...if your intent is to keep this puppy, you must first examine your ability to properly care for him/her...the legalities as far as breed go within your area...landlord?? if you are renting..i know the landlord will not allow a pit as there are mandatory homeowner insurance liability clauses which do cost money..not to mention the numerous complaints you will get from your neighbors...but 1st and foremost...you must go to the vet for vaccines and wormings...exams...etc...you can then discuss this with your vet and he will give you the proper direction...in the meantime..i would try and find a rescue group to help you in case the answers all point to no...and unfortunately...i think they will...there is something to be said about pit bulls and pit bull breeders and owners....and here it is...unfortunately..some types of people think a pit bull gives them some sort of tough guy status...but..what it gives them is merely ignorance...as these are the very type of people who have ruined the reputation of the breed and their breeders...it is not the personality nor the traits of the pit bull that make it a danger...it is the gross negligence of the people who have them that have put their very existance in danger.... |

I doubt that they would kill him. I will not say that it will be easy to have the puppy registered but I do know that luck is on your side or so I hope. GOOD LUCK. |

Luck is certainly NOT on your side-you are breaking the law. Don't even think of keeping the pup. If you get caught with it you will probably be fined and the pup will most likely be put to sleep since it is illegal. Contact a pitbull rescue outside of where they are illegal and arrange to turn the Dog over to them where it will have a chance at having a safe, legal, loving home.
Lakid please stop posting nonsense. You aren't helping anyone and if your intention is to annoy, well it isn't even annoying enough to call you successful at it. It's just kind of lame.

I am going to pretend that I did not read that. All I was trying to do was give her some encouragement. So please do not be rude. And I am not annoying and I also do not post nonsense. That was very rude and inconsiderate of you to post such a thing. That really hurt my feelings. |

Newsflash: I don't care if it hurt your feelings. You are "encouraging" someone to break the law and to endanger a dog's life. You are not giving good advice at all. It seems all of your posts that I've read are equally unhelpful. |

jolly well said - all of it!
that is the only way lots of people understand anything!
lakid, you don't need to be giving advice on subjects you know nothing about - which seems to be almost everything. |

Maybe you would be more considerate if I told you that I am only 15 years old? Maybe you would care then. I am noot trying to encourage her to break the law, I actually care about other people's feelings. |

here i leave my self wide open...here goes...if this Dog is not registered...who is to prove that it is a pit bull?? the vet?? i dont think so!!! who has the authority to say if it is a purebred pit or a pit mix...no vet could make this call lagally unless miami goes by opinion only or unless this Dog has a microchip...so...the questions here are...what kind of Dog is this really?? who said?? and are pit mixes allowed or also outlawed?? and this has absolutely NOTHING to do with the problem at hand....but..this is an issue which needs an answer....??? please give an opinion?? |

i know in my area (se pa) it depends on the city.some have strict regs on pits or pit mixes.local townships do have stricter ordinances about pits .i too know someone who has 2 pure blood pit ,they are the sweetest dogs.little sissies most of the time.both of them smile, and when they do it looks like they are growling.it's unfortunate that pits have gotten a bad rep.i think (as with most dogs) if you train a pup correctly from the start it will not be that terrible.thank god the rescues were able to help the vick dogs.they get a second lease on life. |

with having the jobs that sue has had she has the right to be brutality honest and strait forward and I respect her for that. I do believe that the kids should have a little different aproach but hey, she could probably tell me allot of things she think I should/shouldnt do. |

Lakid, my comments and advice don't change whether you are 15 or 50. Why should you be able to give bad advice and have nobody say anything contrary just because you are 15? Why do you get to backtalk people old enough to be your grandparents and more experience with dogs than you are. The law is the law. Miami has strict rules. The Dog looks enough like a pit bull that the op thought it to be one so why wouldn't the authorities think so too? When has the enforcement of a breed-specific law ever included a bit of common sense or leniency? Keeping that pup in Miami is the worst advice you could give both for the Dog and for the op. |

the law is usually worded to include pit bulls or any other similarly looking Dog & AC IS the judge
if they are illegal they will almost certainly be put down.
if you kids that are boohooing all the time want to play with the big dogs, then fine - if not, stay on the porch.
I'm tired of hearing you whining. your parents must really baby you - stick around & stop feeling sorry for yourselves - you can learn a lot here |

Hey watch the words. We "kids" do not cry all of the time if that is what you think. We only cry when people like you start putting us down for no reason. |

ok fine do not be so brutal, but you can't have it both ways.it seems like everytime you disagree with somebody they are wrong ,not you.not everyone is going to agree with everything you post/say.but to say that they are wrong,or rude,or brutal just because they disagree with you is not right either.different opinions on things is what makes the world go round. |

lakid....you should see what she said to me...however i have to tell you it is good you are sticking up for yourself...you have to learn that there are all kinds of people in this world...unfortunately there are some who are angry at life in general and at everyone else in the world...and on top of that they also think they are the only ones who are right...everyone else is wrong...and their opinion is the only one that counts....so...back in the day it was not acceptable to talk back to your elders..however...this is the year 2008 and i would still advise you to respect your elders...but..respect the ones that matter...not some words on a screen from some angry person you dont even know....so....let er rip!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
