What happened here?
This place used to be the place to come.
There used to be discussions on all sorts of topics, unseful advise, etc...
Now there is nothing going on. The discussions are at about a 6th grade level and overall there is absolutely nothing going on here at all.
I guess I missed something but have no clue what...
Can someone enlighten me as to what? |

Hey Girl,
This message board blows since they changed the rules.. One other thing, there are undesirable breeders that post on here... YUCK, I dont want to be a part of it.
Hope all is well with you. FYI, big doggie event this weekend at Westworld.

You guys need to come on and post and get the ball rolling to keep the trolls at bay. I agree in reading threads from the past there was a diverse crowd. Some during a certain time period who sounded interesting were run off by bullies amusing themselves, although it did make for good reading.
Breeders have always been able to post here so I don't get the difference and if you don't agree with what this board stands for why read it or come at all
The only thing that really changed in the rules is you can't call out breeders by name or get completely obnoxious personally with someone. Where is it much different? |

Good to see you! I havent seen you in a while! I hope everything your way is going good.
Yeah I noticed that things changed drastically when the rules changed, but I got so busy with life that I wasnt checking in that often to see what a turn it took here.
I had heard something was going on at Westworld but didnt know exactly what it was, I have been so wrapped up in getting Rico's health back on track (He lost his left eye to Valley Fever 2 weeks ago).
Do you have any info on what is going on this weekend?
You can email me at noskiveez@yahoo.com |

You are absolutely right. This used to be the place to go for useful advice and fun activities. Then they up and went to change the rules. |

Yes, I think the rules attributed to the decline, but I also think the place lost its personal feel. Once a bunch of people left and it became more newbies with repetetive questions, the people who really enjoyed it here stopped coming because it didn't feel the same.
I can totally relate, too. I remember wanting to hit 1000 posts by my first year here...now I RARELY post.
ETA: Ironically my 2 years being here is in a few days, and I've posted only a couple hundreds of times. My first year I got to the 1000 mark. |

There are a lot of good things that have come since the rule changes as well. Less idiotic personal grudges. Less disrespect. Less 'name calling'. Overall less OPINIONATED posts stated as fact to new people.
My momma taught me if you didn't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all. I don't think that it should be different, because you aren't saying it to someone's face.
This isn't a rescue website. This is one of the largest puppy selling sites on the internet right now.
What ever happen to that great idealist website that disgruntled members started? Why would anyone want to post on this site when that have that? |

Ahhh Beagle it would be my pleasure to enlighten you...it is dust in the wind Probably 2 posts in the last several months. Yeah I stopped by for $hi#s and giggles like a lot of others if they are to be honest. Apparently they couldn't even get along with themselves. More than one person got banned, and you would be surprised who the second one was.
The thing is most of the middle of the road people who weren't part of that clique never joined there so it seems they probably weren't agreeing with all those viewpoints either...so I still don't get where they up and went to. There just doesn't seem to be a lot of new blood here besides the kiddies. |

I too remember hitting my 1000 post and being excited about it and then all of the sudden it seemed like the 5000 post was on me.
I remember there were lots of great conversations about so many things and I remembered learning so much from so many people and developing friendships with other members and it just crashed and burned.
I do agree the repetitive posts are pretty redundant. I remember a time when you could hit the refresh button every 10 seconds and there were a dozen new posts. Now I can pop in while I am at work and check back hours later and nothing has happened. It was quite shocking. |

People ask the same old questions because, dogs are dogs and people are people. Because this is primarily a puppy site we're going to get a lot of new owners asking questions that we've answered 100 times over. Imagaine what a teacher must feel like after 20 years of teaching. If she can answer those same questions year after year with a smile, so can I.
