My male puppy is just about 6 months old and will be going to a friends while I go away for a weekend. This friend also has a puppy that is about 8 months old and is a female...can they have sex??? They have played many times together but they are a wee bit older now so it makes me a little nervous...should I be??? |

Does the female happen to be in heat? If she is then YES they will breed without proper supervision.
Is there a reason they are not spayed and neutered? |

just him being there can bring on her heat & once he is done, the hormones can stay in the system for up to 2 months.
there have been dogs impregnated by neutered males when it has just been done because sperm remains |

don't cancel your trip if you can help it.if possible find another sitter.but yes most good sitters will not take a Dog unless it is up to date on all shots and either spayed or NEUTERED.good luck |

Before you go fet your Dog spayed or neutered. That will be much better than canceling your trip or going through the hassle of finding another sitter. |
