This is truly an unbelievable story! Okay, as some of you know I just adopted a mix breed from my spca. They said she was catahoula/lab, I thought aussie/lab or golden. Once I got her home I didn't really care what she was, she is going to be big and she is very smart-good enough for me! In an older part of my town there is a house whose back yard connects with the yard of the home behind it. At both, the dogs are tied up outside the back and side doors. For two years I was saying I was going to call animal control on both of these homes because the dogs were tied up ALL DAY EVERYDAY AND NIGHT. I let it go and let it go, until the other day I saw the one Dog scratching at the frozen block of ice that she had knocked out from her water dish - my heart sank to see that. I called animal control and told her where the place was because I didn't have an address, only a street name, she said "I think I know where you are talking about, what kinds of dogs do you know?" I said the smaller one has color of catahoula/aussie and she has a light in a small Dog house where she lives, and the big one is definitely a golden retriever, and is absolutely huge. She said "I know where you are referring too, I will take care of it. I warned them about the conditions their dogs were living in when they called us to pick up a litter of Puppies recently." What are the chances? I said "were 2 blonde, 2 blue merle and 1 tri colored" she said she only saw them once but yes, something like that, I said I have the tri colored one! So we talked for a bit longer and laughed at the coincidence! |

She can't tell me exactly what happens but after so many warnings, they get fines, after so many fines (depending on the severity of the situation) the dogs will be taken away. I will continue to call Animal Control until I see a change. I guess the only good news right now is that it is getting warm - probably no more snow, so they won't be as cold. Will keep you posted |

I have been watching these dogs for 2 yrs now and I know who the owners are (I don't know them personally)but I know where they work etc. The dogs were inside. Unfortunately tonight we drove by and the Golden was scratching at the door to go in and the aussie x is now enclosed in an outdoor playpen....with......one of her Puppies. I guess there were 6 in the litter, they kept another blonde one. I don't understand why these people have dogs. I will call animal control tomorrow then I don't think I will go that route anymore. |
