Make sure if he/she is going out to potty that is what you do.(dont play till they potty) Give lots and lots of good girl/boy when they go. Try to keep a schedual. About the same as wit a puppie. |

Tell us about your Dog and what problems you are having. Male of female, breed or mix size? |

patience and lots of it.adult dogs might be little harder to train.try a fixed schedule(if you can) every couple of hrs,try going to the same spot (as often as you can), and lots of praise when they do well.depending on the type of Dog (small vs lge) it might take a little longer.smaller dogs have smaller bladders etc.but good luck |

Start from the basics. keep it in the crate if he or she can't be watched. when he can be watched keep him/her on a leash attached to you. start by looking for signals that the Dog is about to potty.if you catch it in the act of going potty in the house give it a firm no and take them out to the his or her potty spot.lastly if don't catch it in the act of going potty in the house do not scold the Dog for it just clean the accident up. |

I agree but shouldn't I just get her one of those doggy diapers instead so I won't have to keep on cleaning up the mess? |

Bu I hate to lock her up and also she makes alot of noise. I have tried that technique a dozen times already and it didn't work. |

But that is another problem, she won't go in the same spot and she always waits until she is inside to go potty. I am getting really fustrated with her. It is really starting to get on my nerves. |

Don't I need to scold her for going to the bathroom in the house so she can get the idea that what she did was wrong and not to do it again? |

potty pads are things you put down in case they have accidents.also used to train them in case they are left for longer periods of time and they go on the pads and not on you floor or carpet.if they don't go in the same spot outside keep trying, but don't holler at them or scold them if they don't.trying to take them to the same spot is a tool to get them used to going outside.don't really have to scold them, give them a firm "no" and get them outside right away.scolding them i think would make them scared, and they might hide from you and you don't see it right away and then can be harder to clean up.but like i said before, patience and lots of it.older dogs are more set in their ways and it will be harder for you and for them.when they do go outside praise them like it's the best thing since sliced bread.they will get the idea.good luck oh yeah, when she is outside to go potty make sure she knows it's potty time not play time. |

And when she does do it again and I do not know about it should I check her for signs indicating that she did go potty inside? |

you should being paying attention to this Dog as much as possible while potty training.if you really watch you will start to see signs of when they are looking to go potty.why is it getting on your nerves? if this getting on your nerves maybe you should have not gotten a Dog that needs house breaking.you need to have much, much patience to housebreak a dog.a Dog depends on it's human for food ,water, love, play and training.plse don't get frustrated, the Dog needs you to be patient.good luck |

scolding?by asking to pay attention to your Dog so it doesn't go potty inside, you can pick up signs of how the Dog reacts by watching them.by asking why the Dog is getting on your nerves?as much as you would like to plse be patient with your dog, they can pick up on you be upset and it will make them upset.my intention was not to scold you and i'm sorry if you took it that way. |

Have you tried to give him/her a time out in a private area to learn his/her lesson? |
