I have started having some of my Puppies fixed before they leave. The first was done about a year ago. I am doing it for the new owners that are in favor of it. I am really considering getting all of my Puppies fixed before they go to their new home unless I am selling to a person that is preapproved not to have it done. Here is a little info on it... http://www.columbusdogconnection.com/PedSpayNeuter.htm

Quote CannonFarms: So, any one in favor of cats and dogs being extinct in 15 years?

No way. If people spay and neuter their dogs and cats more often than now then in the future there will not be any left.

You know, everyone has an opinion about this, and everyone has to make up their own mind about what is best for their Puppies.

I am just concerned that the rescue community is SO passionate about this issue that they have effectivley squelched the information about the negative sides of this proceedure.

I KNOW they feel that the 'risk of creating unwanted Puppies and kittens' outweighs the risks to individual animals, I just don't agree.

I DO trust my families to be responsible to a certain degree. I don't think 'only pets' in the home are at a huge risk of inpregnation before 12 months. Particularly the Boxers that DO NOT CYCLE before a year.

I am more concerned about the effects of the PEDIATRIC spaying/neutering. Especially since I just looked at this article concerning THYROID ISSUES which Boxers are also very prone to have.

Check out this article that I was able to dig up/
