Don't usually register with AKC(AKC requires DNA to prove parentage),4-sells a puppy with papers not caring where it goes or what is done with it,5-won't ask personal questions to insure the best home for the puppy,6-raises puppy in a wire cage with no human contact except for shots,7-will lie to you in order to sell a puppy. There are many reputable breeders that advertise on the internet. Do your homework..check references(not just their vet), don't believe all those references or testimonials on a website. Look at how many breeds they have. *DO NOT BUY A PUPPY VIA EMAIL WITHOUT HAVING A PERSONAL CONVERSATION WITH THE SELLER!! DO NOT BUY A PUPPY ON A "CLICK HERE TO PURCHASE THIS PUPPY" WEBSITE!!* These are red flags that tell you that breeder is a puppy mill. Ask someone who shows their dogs in AKC shows to help you find a puppy. Don't just choose a breed or a puppy from a picture. Ask about temperament, personality, activity level, etc. |
