Why do you or your family want a dog?

Dogs have always been an integral part of our family my entire life. As an adult I have had 2 dogs who both died older than 15. Toby died fairly recently. I cannot imagine my life without a dog. And I want a puppy to avoid "issues". In addition I am currently not working and have the time to truly spend with a new puppy.
