Why do you or your family want a dog?

I am an animal lover and have always had cats and dogs in my life. I adopted a child a year ago and feel it is important for all children, when possible, to grow up with a special dog. My daughter loves animals and is very gentile with them. My older daughter has a boxer that Moriah adores! As a single parent I also feel safer with the presence of a good watch dog.
