| Description: Heather is a 3 year old, 35 pound Aussie/Retriever mix. She was an owner surrender to a kill shelter in the south. She loves to go for walks; likes chasing tennis balls and likes to have the comfort of a crate when shes anxious. She has been socialized with men women and children and is fine with all. She does well with kids but she can be anxious in new environments and during that adjustment, loud noises scare her; she may take a bit longer to adjust to a home with small kids but would be fine afterwards. She would make a great companion for another dog. She is very submissive. She is shy and fearful in a new environment. However, she has attended college at the University of Tennessee at Martin and her social skills have improved dramatically because she went for walks all over campus twice a day. With that being said, an potential adopter will need to know that she may take longer to adjust longer as in a couple of weeks over a couple of days.
