My bullmastiff’s ears sit back and are referred to as ‘flying ears’ I have been told I can tape them for a few days to try and correct the cartilage and enable them to flop forward. Mainly for ‘cosmetic’ purposes but it also has some health benefits for the dog, with regards to preventing insect bites eg. mosquito’s as well as ticks. I have tried taping his ears on 2 occasions and each time it has worked for about a week, then they sit back again. Please note, this does not injure or harm the dog in anyway and he doesn’t even notice. I always ensure his ears are kept nice and clean as well. Has anyone else done this or been given this advice from a vet or breeder like I have and can offer some advice?
