My Scottie pup (5 months) has a wonderful tail but rarely keeps it erect when we're at the park where there are other, more dominant (and older) dogs. I understand that, among dogs, the tail is used to signal the dog's place in the hiearachy, but I've also read that Scotties' tail default position should be the erect one, while if I had to I'd say his default position is the horizontal one (he is calm but not a fearful puppy); he is a show prospect, do I have a problem?
