I recently adopted a 2 yr old border collie mix. She has settled into her new life very well, except for being over protective if a stranger is near. She rushes toward the person growling and I am afraid that she will nip or bite if I don't do something. Does anyone have ideas how I could control this behavior? I have had experience in dog obedience classes, but have not experienced this issue. Is there a chance that a good recall and heel command could control this issue? Thanks for any help.
