No, they are three separate breeds. APBT (American Pitbull Terrier ) are what most people think of when they see a pitbull. These dogs are generally medium sized dogs, their structure consist of a lean muscle and powerful frame. American Bullies did descend from the American Pitbull Terrier, and or the American Staffshire Terrier, however; they have evolved into their own breed. American Bullies should be more bulkier, with heavier frames. American Bull dogs, are also a breed of thier own.

American Bullies are an off breed of the American Pit Bull Terrier. Documentation shows the true American Bully was created by hand picked, more heavier "bullier" looking APBT puppies added to breeding programs creating a different standard of dog with a different purpose. Mainly to perform in the confirmation ring and in society all together. There are 5 varieties of American Bullies, Classic, Standard, Pocket, XL and Extreme. The American Bully is far from and APBT but every ancestor documented in the lineage is a pure bred American Pit Bull Terrier. Both the American Bully and APBT can co-exist in the same household with the proper training and consistency. Both are very smart and willing to please. American Bullies were bred for the show ring and APBT's were bred for catch dogs and athleticism. If you want a companion either breed is a great choice, if you want more athletic animal go for the APBT... if you want a dog that looks Amazing a requires less exerciser go for the Bully!
