I wouldn't risk the cats with this dog. I had Inuit Sled Dogs for years, as well as having worked with pure wolves and wolfdogs for over 20 years, so know the prey drive in both very well. Even if the puppy is safe with the cats now, it is not likely to last as he matures, and things can go bad quickly. Prey drive is often silent, the puppy will not show signs that most people recognize as "dangerous" or "aggressive" since hunting isn't aggression. He will not growl or snarl, but will look happy and excited (as he IS, hunting is FUN and instinctive.) I never let my sled dogs around my cats even though I raised them all from puppies. They showed me that they thought of my cats as prey and I never risked my cats' lives.
